The Seed (a poem from my book, Seasons Come, People Grow)

The Seed (a poem from my book, Seasons Come, People Grow)

A Poem by Craig Rozniecki

The Seed

The seed of life,
It shall never die,
The seed of growth,
To the heavens and skies,

Firmly planted,
Into the soft, moist soil,
Strong and sturdy,
All year round,

It provides shade,
To keep one cool in the heat,
Provides a resting ground,
To lean and depend on when in need,

Able to withstand the rain and storms in spring,
The scorching heat in summer,
The drastic changes in autumn,
The bitter cold and snow in winter,

The seed of life has been planted,
It shall grow endlessly,
The spirit and memories will forever remain,
From this life into the next.
