"Alien" (a poem from my book, Seasons Come, People Grow)

A Poem by Craig Rozniecki

Alien

Different from all others,
Stand out in a crowd,
Unable to blend in,
Not wanting to know how,

All alone in this world,
Isolated from the rest,
Trust depleted,
Undergoing multitudes of tests,

Strapped down tightly am I,
Closely observed,
An experimental droid,
An alien in this world,

Alien to this world,
Alien to this life,
Alien to my girl,
Alien to my life,

Alien are my surroundings,
Alien are the faces,
Constant tests and experiments,
Constant adaptations and changes.

About
I'll be honest (like this is something new for me...), I'm not sure what to write here. It's not a singles ads, so even though I like long walks on the beach, I don't see much point in mentioning that.. more..
