The Re-Awakening

The Re-Awakening

A Poem by Craig Rozniecki

The Re-Awakening

Pushed into a dark hole,
Unable to find my way out,
Farther down the hole I fall,
Not knowing when I'll stop,

Numbness fills my body,
Pain has overtaken me,
Unable to walk, travel, work,
Wishing I was unable to breathe,

I fall further down the hole,
My mood does likewise,
Seemingly hitting rock bottom,
Until I saw your face,

A light shines through,
A rope is thrown down,
As I climb to the top,
What I felt was lost has been found,

A smile gleams across your face,
As you reach your hand to lift me up,
We embrace as if we've known each other for years,
Even though we just met,

The numbness exits my body,
As sensations which were vacant are not anymore,
A sense of hope and optimism re-instilled,
You've helped re-awaken my heart.

About
I'll be honest (like this is something new for me...), I'm not sure what to write here. It's not a singles ads, so even though I like long walks on the beach, I don't see much point in mentioning that.. more..
