I Wonder

Thoughts that I tried to put into verse... I failed, but that's okay.

I wonder,

Is it too much to ask for little things to come true?

For puzzle pieces to fit?

For problems to make sense?

I wonder,

Is it silly to dream of falling leaves?

Of petals that drop slowly to the ground?

Of a scene that makes a heart sing?

I wonder,

Is this all there is?

Am I really okay with settling for this?

Do I really have nothing else to look forward to?

I wonder,

Am I really this pathetic?

Am I getting what I deserve?

Will I ever stop dreaming of things that can never be?

I wonder.
