Laughter

Laughter

A Story by Gerri Tucker
"

There's no option for 'random paragraph of writing', but this was written at a time when I was hurt and angry and couldn't tell if I wanted to rage or cry... So I wrote instead.

"
It starts as a tickle in the back of your mind, and it travels to the back of your throat. You don't know what it is at first, but you feel it moving upwards. Bubbles begin to appear in your mind, spiraling in circles, upwards, faster. The pressure is beginning to build up, bells are ringing gently, giddiness is emerging. You can taste it on your tongue, elation, joy, humour, fun. It's pushing against your teeth, sending feathers into your stomach. Curious and wary, you open your mouth to find out what it is. A sound of pure happiness bursts forth, taking you by surprise. Startled, you let more out, marveling at the occurrence.
