Doll

Doll

A Poem by A Girl Who Never Smiled

Doll,

Why are you so sad?

That face of yours more sad than it has ever been before,

What happend?

Are the children not playing with you anymore?

Do you miss their smiles of joy and laughters?

Ohh Doll,

How i wish to be like you,

To be made of little things and dead mens dreams,

Do you wish to have a different fate?

Don't cry little doll,

Remember the children want to see you happy,

And a child smile is more beautiful than the rosesof this earth,

Doll,

Are you listening to me?

Do you hear me?

Should we be separate?

Doll,

You poor little sad doll,

Don't get lost between their laughter and your white strings,

Why do you let them touch you with that restless body of yours?

Do your eyes even have colours anymore?

Were they grey since your birth?

Doll,

Little doll,

Don't cry just smile

Because no one wants to play with a sad doll.

A most revealing poem.
It reveals the sorrow of the doll and the reason the children no longer play with it.
I like the 'human' way you ended the poem by offering the doll a false-remedy through a forced smile.
Very nicely composed, dear poet.
