Dear MaybellA Poem by EdwardDear Maybell,
You probably will not know who this letter is from.. Due to the fact that you will not understand it at all.. So I'm simply writing this letter so I can get what has been itching at my mind finally out and for your eyes to read.
My dearest Maybell.. Look how far we came. We knew each other since we were kids, and we fell in love that one summer evening. It was an amazing relationship. Lasting throughout high school, collage and beyond. I remember our dances, our little trips, our "Adventure hour" always grabbing the popcorn and sitting in our arm chairs and watching our favourite shows (preferably cartoons)
We had been only married for 3 years, when we decided to start our family. Three children in total my dear, all three of them have grown up and started their family's already. I remember on are 52nd wedding anniversary year, you asked me why I married you all those years ago. I instantly replied with " No other girl looked better then you my dear." I remembered you looked at me and smiled as we sat on our deck facing the lake at the our of twilight.
And now I think it is safe to say, that I miss you terribly.. I sit here on our 62nd anniversary night alone for the first time, sipping back our favourite bottle of wine, and eating our favourite meal. Sometimes I feel as though you are just walking down the hall to join me.. But then reality sinks in. They took you away to the hospital.. You woke up one morning and couldn't remember anything. So they took you away.. So maybe this letter will bring back some memories of us, so you can come back home and see all of us.. I miss you Maybell.. Come home soon. I love you..
Love,
