To The "Friend" I Thought I Knew

To The "Friend" I Thought I Knew

A Poem by Edward

I had first met her in a dream,
She seemed the one or so it seemed.

I met her through a friend,
Although we lived 567 kilometers away,
She seemed to live just around the bend.

A few days later we were together not apart,
We loved the same things like piano or art.

But I couldent help wonder if I would get hit with that dart,
I soon found out a month after the start.

I knew something was up but she wouldent tell me what,
Then she told me what she had cut.

The bond between us grew farther apart,
Telling me we would still be friends just like the start.

But that still hasn't changed,
For I still feel like I'm on her shooting range.

Then one day she called me on Skype completely out of the blue,
The day before I had to leave for the summer with my cadet crew.

She said she felt bad for all the things she said or what we didn't do,
And I honestly thought she was going to say I love you.

But after that we never talked,
And grew forever apart.

I've tried for a long time to forget you my friend,
But finally the rope has reached it's end.

Good luck at what ever you do,
But remember Ive been poisoned by that brew.

Just remember this too,
I have feelings just like you.

Edward
This did happen to me, I met this girl through a friend, but her and I quickly came to an end. We said our final goodbyes last night. I'm actually glad it's over
