All Those Years Ago

All Those Years Ago

A Poem by Edward

I love running through the forest,
At dark, when it is the funniest.

You may be wondering why,
Well if I told you then you could see.

You see there's this one spot,
A lake kinda shaped like a dot.

It's out there in the middle of nowhere,
A blue dot surrounded by a sea of green.

And I can't help but think,
All the fun times we had in that yellow submarine.

It was something Joe found,
In his dads scrap town.

We dragged it out,
And made it our own.

It was that one place,
We called it our second home.

All our friends would come out during our teens,
But that all ended the day we turned eighteen.

And that yellow submarine?
Sank to the bottom long after.

It became a new place for fish to roam,
And fill its hollow hull with laughter.

I never knew what happened to them all those years ago,
But they just vanished like a doe.

So now you know all that you needed to know,
Because that part of us sank to the bottom below.
