In the dark.

Case1: The train wreck.

The air was still. A girl walked out of her house, and to her chicken coop. It was early in the morning, around 5:30. There was a sound behind her.

Girl: Mama? Papa? Es alguien por alli? (Mom? Dad? Is someone there?)

No one answered. She walked towards the area she heard the sound. She looked, but all she could see were bushes. She looked closer, and in the faint light, she could make out large eyes staring back at her. Then the bushes started to shake, and a large hairy creature jumped out, the upper half of a goat in its mouth. The girl screamed.

Girl: Alguien ayuda! Es el chupacabras! (Someone help! It’s the chupacabra!)

The chupacabra jumped over the girl, and ran towards a nearby town. The girl heard the sound of motors. She saw lights and jumped out of the way, as three motorcycle like machines burst through the bushes. She watched as they chased down the chupacabra.

Thorn: Ok, so who’s the tard that forgot to make sure all civilians were in their homes?

Arkais: Actually Thorn that was your job. You were supposed to make sure there was a specific time everyone was supposed to come out of their homes.

Thorn: Well, then its Anglat’s fault for leaving me in charge of that.

Anglat: Both of y’all shut up, and follow that thing!

The three followed the creature through the town. They managed to corner it in an ally. Anglat got off his vehicle, and approached the creature.

Anglat: Come on, come here. We swear we won’t hurt you.

Anglat was a few feet away, when the chupacabra jumped at him. It knocked him to the ground, and was trying to bite him. He managed to keep it pushed away so it couldn’t. The chupacabra was too heavy, and was getting closer to his face.

Anglat: SOMEONE SHOOT THE DAMN THING!

A shot rang out. The chupacabra stopped moving, and fell to the ground. Arkais was pointing a gun at Anglat. Anglat stood up, and wiped the blood of his face. The three walked out of the ally, and stood by the vehicles.

Thorn: Nice shot. Of course I could have done much better.

Arkais: Whatever. Hey, where do you think the others are?

Just then, another creature, that looked just like El chupacabra ran by. Behind it, three more of those motorcycle vehicles. All four turned a corner. Arkais, Thorn and Anglat, climbed on their cycles and followed them. When they turned the corner, the chupacabra was under a net. Oki, Ezekiel, and Trevor were standing around it.

Oki: Well, this was a pain in the a*s to catch.

Arkais: At least yours is alive.

Trevor: What do you mean?

Thorn: There’s another one we killed over in that ally back there.

Oki: Oh great.

Arkais: Arkais to chopper 172. Come back?

Chopper Pilot: Chopper 172 here. Go ahead Arkais.

Arkais: I need an airlift for chupacabra plus six.

Chopper Pilot: No problem. Please light site with green smoke. E.T.P 15 minutes.

Arkais: Copy that chopper.

Thorn and Trevor lit up some green smoke signals. Fifteen minutes went by, and the chopper arrived. It lowered a platform down to the ground next the chupacabra. Oki and Arkais lifted it, and placed it on the platform. They strapped it down. A ladder fell from the side of the chopper. They each climbed up, and into the waiting chopper. Trevor gave the pilot the go ahead. The chopper flew off, back to the United States. They arrived back at their base in Washington a few hours after leaving the Mexico/US border. The platform was dropped at a second heliport. The chopper landed at another. The group inside jumped out of the chopper, and stretched.

Oki: I ever mention I hate helicopters? So small.

Arkais: Doesn’t help having a fat a*s bear in it either Oki.

Oki: And two dragons are so much better.

As the two argued two blue level guards (third highest ranked guards.) Walked up.

Guard one: Stow it you two. The Chief would like to see you all in his office now.

Thorn: Really guys? You can’t give us a few minutes to rest?

Guard two: Sorry. We have our orders. And your orders are to report to the Chief’s office.

Oki: Fine, time to go see what he needs.

The six walked with the guards into the base. Inside, everyone was pointing, snickering, and whispering about the group. The six made it to the elevator that lead to the Chief’s office. The elevator door closed, and re opened on the top floor. The six walked into the middle of the room, and lined up in a row.

Oki: Special agents Oki, Arkais, Anglat, Thorn, Ezekiel, and Trevor reporting in sir.

Arkais: What did you need Chief?

Chief: Do you six mind telling me, WHAT THE HELL THAT WAS?!

Trevor: Referring to?

Chief: That train wreck in La ciudad Del desierto.

Oki: In Trevor, Ezekiel, and my own defense, those three were messing around the town while we hunted down the target.

Arkais: Go to hell Oki. We also found an El chupacabra. However, we had to terminate ours.

Chief: Not another word from either of you.

Ezekiel: Chief, what happened?

Chief: Central…they saw the footage and photos from that case. They say that you six, while being out most promising team. They said well…listen to it yourself.

The Chief pressed the screen on his desk. A large hologram image appeared.

Hologram: Due to the resent La ciudad Del desierto incident, team ALPHA, has been deemed a possible risk to this organization’s mission, to keep the Supernatural, and paranormal hidden from the rest of the world. Under normal circumstances, their memberships would have been confiscated. However, their track record has kept this from happening. But precautions must be taken. Therefore, we of the central S.P.I.R.O, order that ALPHA team be under the watch of our top four agents here from central. This order is to be taken into effect immediately. Pay in mind, these four new agents will be working on even levels as ALPHA team. This may seem unfair. But the safety and secrecy of this organization and those we protect must remain intact. Thank you.

Chapter2: The new girls.

The hologram faded away. The lights in the lights in the room got brighter.

Oki: Chief, you can’t be serious?

Chief: Not another word. This isn’t my order. Although I do agree with it. Trust me, this isn’t good for anyone. We’re behind on our paperwork a little. And with these four on their way, we could have decommissions, or downgrades all over the place. But, we gotta be more positive.

Hologram: Chief? There are four girls from central here.

Chief: Have two guards escort them to conference room four.

Hologram: Of course.

Chief: Well, they don’t waste any time do they?  You guys, head to conference room four.

Oki: BUT CHIEF!?

Chief: I SAID GO!

Arkais: Oki let it go.

Chief: Head down there, now.

All: Yes sir.

They all flipped the Chief off as they saluted him. They all walked down the hall and opened the door to the conference room. They walked in, no one there yet.

Oki: Hmm. Well we lucked out, they aren’t here yet.

Arkais: Well, while we have some time, what the hell are we going to do now?

Ezekiel: Well, we can’t do much. We could try to get them off our backs early.

Thorn: Are you talking about the rebound trick?

Oki: The what? Guys, we’re not dating the new girls.

Thorn: Not like that.

Anglat: See, whenever a group is under surveillance like this, it’s like the group took a shot, and missed.

Ezekiel: Yeah, so what do you try to do when that happens? You try to score the rebound. Basically; for the first mission or so, they just observe our strategies and how long it takes to do a mission and stuff like that.

Oki: I get it now. So if we just do the next mission next to flawlessly-

Arkais: We should be able to get them off our backs with ease.

The six agreed on the plan and were chatting until they heard a knock on the door. They all rose.

Oki: Yes?

Door opens.

Guard: Ok, this is the room.

The guard opened the door, and four girls walked in the room. One was an orange and yellow cat. Another, a black wolf with red patterns. The third a turquoise dragon. And lastly was an otter with a lizard’s tail. They were all wearing S.P.I.R.O international field mission uniforms.

Oki: We’re fucked.

Cola: Hello. You must be the team in question…ALPHA?

Oki: Yeah.

Cola: You seem to be answering my questions…are you the leader?

Oki: No. We don’t have a leader. We each toss around who leads which mission.

Aura: Based on?

Arkais: Skills. If the target is a runner, we have me lead. If it’s a camper, Oki is our man. We, like they said, trade off.

Angelus: Note one-Team shows signs of either laziness or complete lack of respect for regulations by not appointing a leader.

Thorn: I guess its true; everyone from central is a viper.

Cola: No. Only Jack from the southern sub branch. Now then, shall we all meet and become a team?

Oki: Ok…I’m Oki.

Arkais: I’m Arkais.

Anglat: Yeah, I’m Anglat.

Thorn: I’m Thorn. The best.

Trevor: Trevor. Hi.

Ezekiel: And I’m Ezekiel.

Cola: Thorn is it?

Thorn: Yes?

Aura: Our reports state that 51% of the near mission failures are caused by you. So you will be placed under extreme surveillance. As for the rest of you; we will be observing you on your next mission.

Oki: Next mission? We haven’t gotten one yet.

Angelus: We know. Because this one has to be handled by you guys. You see, we understand that you are responsible for the actions that accrued in La ciudad Del desierto. It is because of this you are the only team able to do this mission. Blood from the chupacabra you guys captured, has given our satellites a full grasp on what we are dealing with. If you look at this map "lights turn off, and hologram map appears. - These dots represent chupacabras. These were taken as soon as you left the city.

Oki: There are like…five more!?

Arkais: Oh great, and the first two were so simple to track.

Aura: Don’t fret. These aren’t your mission. Watch.

They all watched. As the five dots on the map slowly faded away.

Thorn: Uh…

Cola: They were all killed as soon as you left. Most likely by the villagers. Keep watching though.

They all watched. The time counter showed up until half an hour before the current time. A large dot appeared. It went through the town, and several other heat signatures, those of humans, disappeared. The map time clock said (current time). The dot was in the mountains, avoiding the light no doubt.

Angelus: That’s your mission. Find out what that thing was. And kill it. Or capture it. So suit up.

Oki: Really? Ok. Doesn’t sound too difficult.

Chapter3: One tough mama.

The six guys met their new teammates at the helipad. They all took a transport chopper, so the fit wasn’t so tight. The chopper took off, leaving their base behind.

Aura: Where are your uniforms?

Oki: Huh? Oh yeah. We like to keep it low profile. We mainly operate at night. Until then, we have to stay in the town, and collect information. And we don’t want people blowing our cover. For all we know, this thing could be human in the day. And could retain some memory or intelligence when it becomes…whatever again. If it did, it would know who to attack.

Cola: That’s actually smart.

Ezekiel: Arkais’ idea.

Cola: So who are you appointing to be leader this time around?

Anglat: This thing hunts at night. And is really fast. So I’m taking lead.

Oki: Seconded.

Arkais: Yeah, I’m cool with that.

Ezekiel: Yeah.

Thorn: Then it’s decided.

The rest of the flight was quiet. After an hour and a half of flying, they arrived to the town outskirts. They all got out and walked towards town. The six guys all had their guns concealed under their coats. The four girls stayed at the chopper while the other six walked ahead.

Oki: Well, it’s about…6:34, and that means sun’s going down in about an hour.

Anglat: Cool. Ok guys, we should split up and hit the spots we found the last two chupacabras.

Aura: Sounds good.

Thorn: What’s with the outfits?

Cola: You said to blend in. So we are.

Oki: Hmm…anyways, I’ll head to where we found the captured chupacabra.

Arkais: I’ll come with you.

Cola: I’ll accompany you guys.

The three walked off.

Anglat: Ok, Aura, Ezekiel and Thorn; you go to where you found the dead chupacabra. The rest of us are going to look at the locations where that large creature was last night.

All: Ok.

They all split up. Back at Oki’s group:

Cola: So, about that Arkais guy. What’s his deal?

Oki: It’s not going to work. I’m not turning on-

Just as Oki started talking, a large Chupacabra crashed through the building near them. It had a man in its mouth. It ran off, towards the center of town. Oki called the others on his communicator. Cola watched as Oki and Arkais ran after it. They weren’t chasing it very long, when it turned and charged them. Arkais managed to fly in the air, with Oki grabbing onto his tail. The large chupacabra jumped on some nearby buildings, and jumped after them, barely missing the two. It fell to the ground, and stared up at them. It looked over at Cola, and charged. Oki jumped down, and tackled it. When the dust from the impact cleared, Oki was lying on the ground, holding the jaws of the chupacabra open. Arkais took out his two magnums, and started shooting. The shots didn’t seem to affect the chupacabra. Cola reached in her pocket, and pulled out a single 9mm handgun. It had a neon blue glow in the patterns. She aimed at the chupacabra. Oki managed to kick the chupacabra off of him. He stood up and looked at Arkais. Oki heard a roar behind him. He turned around as the Chupacabra jumped at him. A shot rang out. The body of the chupacabra turned to dust, and blew away in the wind. Oki looked back, and saw Cola, still point the gun towards him. They all heard multiple footsteps, as the others all ran around the corner.

Oki: That was too close for comfort.

Cola: Hmm. Well I see how much research you put into this.

Arkais: The hell does mean?

Cola: This chupacabra is afraid of the light, and it’s extremely deadly to it. So I shot it with a UV bullet.

Oki: Thanks. Hmm, there’s our ride.

Aura: Enjoy it. It might be your last.

Oki: Meaning?

Aura: We weren’t very impressed in this performance.

Arkais: Well, when it’s two against a queen, it gets pretty difficult.

Cola: Hmm. I never heard a thank you for saving your a*s.

Oki: Thanks. So Thorn, Anglat, where was our cover? Or our intelligence?

Anglat: Communications went down. Then we heard the crashing sound and saw Oki falling out of the sky.

Thorn: Our satellite was out too. This whole town was suddenly a giant blank. Like it didn’t exist.

Ezekiel: So, that was the queen huh? Surprising your still alive. I read reports the Chupacabra queen, is said to be able to unhinge her jaw and swallow things, even three times Oki’s size.

Oki: E?

Ezekiel: Yeah?

Oki: Shut up please.

Ezekiel; Oh, right sorry. Anyway, once we’re back at base, I’ll take care of the paperwork. I need something to do. We haven’t needed a tech guy since that living virus back in New York.

Cola: I read that one. Some guy actually brought a virus, a computerized virus to life?

Ezekiel: Yeah.

Angelus: He must have been boosting power from the military base in NY. Only way he could possibly have enough power to do that.

Ezekiel: He told me it took him 18 years.

Pilot: Are you sure?

Ezekiel: He said it laughing on his dying breath.

Pilot: Not you. I just got a transmission. As of now, there’s a no fly policy in effect.

Thorn: I wonder what’s going on.

Cricket: Your about to find out.

Chapter4: The final decision.

The chopper landed back at the head quarters. This time however, there were ten red level guards (second highest rank.) awaiting them.

Guard: team alpha we are here to escort you to the main council chamber.

Oki: Crap. That means the councils here. What happened to “just observing”?

Aura: They are here on their own account. Not ours.

The group walked with five guards and the four girls ahead of them, and five behind them. They arrived at a set of large doors. The doors opened to a room, filled with people in stands, and in the middle, six chairs. The six took their seats; they could hear the hushed whispers of the spectators. Seven men and women appeared, and everyone got quiet. The seven took their seats, as did the spectators.

Councilman1: This is quite the track record you have here. Do you realize that in your 32 missions, you had one failure?

Oki: Sir, please don’t talk about that.

Councilman1: But it’s just amazing. Such a tragedy too. The girl lost was so nice. I really think she would have liked to join this-

Arkais: SHUT YOUR F*****G MOUTH! YOU DON’T KNOW S**T ABOUT HER!

The room was silent.

Councilwomen3: Hmm, it seems that there’s a bit of a sore spot for you six regarding this mission. You realize that death happens. There is no stopping it. And ever since that mission, you six have avoided any missions that involve protecting people. This has also lead to deaths that could have been avoided. Are you getting what I’m saying? Because if not let me further explain. This organization’s sole purpose is to protect the humans and furs of this world, from those creatures that should remain secret. When these creatures make bumps in the night, we bump right back. We make sure not to get involved outside of the organization, or within it. Yet you six, have been obsessing over this one girl for the past year and a half. You’re slowing the organization down. You’re getting sloppy. You can’t keep this girl on your minds. I repeat this: PEOPLE DIE.

Oki: We were supposed to protect her, and her family. And we couldn’t.

Councilman5: Non sense. The Raymond family couldn’t be happier these days.

Arkais: No you idiots, they aren’t fine. If we had been more careful, their little girl would still be alive. And the thing that killed her would have been slaughtered by now. But instead, she’s dead, her body ripped to shreds, and the creature responsible nowhere to be found!

The council looked the group over.

Councilwoman3: We understand this. And we understand your pain of not being able to protect a life so young. However, this does not negate your group’s recent actions. And to our most recent knowledge, Mr. Oki here had to be saved by a non field agent. From one chupacabra.

Ezekiel: In Oki’s defense, it was the mother of all Chupacabras, or at least the ones in that general area.

Councilman7: Regardless. His and your whole group’s negligence, lead to the acting of a non field central agent.

Councilman1: So, with all of that, we have enough to do this. ALPHA GROUP, FROM THIS POINT, UNTIL A TO BE DETERMINED DATE, YOU ARE PUT ONTO FORCED LEAVE. YOU WILL ALL BE PLACED UNDER HOUSE ARREST IN YOUR BARRACKS FOR THE NEXT FIVE MONTHS. THIS IS TO BE PUT INTO EFFECT TOMORROW. UNTIL THEN, THERE IS A NO FLY POLICY IN EFFECT.

The Council stepped off and left the room. The six walked out of the room, escorted by the red guards. Cola was standing next to the door.

Oki: So congratulations. You win. Oh, and you could have shown some mercy.

Cola: Meaning?

Oki: Non field agents aren’t supposed to carry firearms. And UV rounds are for vampire targets only…no exceptions. And you killed off the last known female of an endangered super species. Good luck.

Oki was moved through the door. One week went bye after the sentencing.

Oki: Well, at least they brought us the Xbox.

Door to barracks opens.

Guard: You six…follow me.

The six followed the guard to the Chief’s office.

Chief: Alpha, you have to help. The girls, they were kidnapped.

Anglat: Huh?

Chief: It happened four days ago. They were all on a research mission in the Nevada desert. We just suddenly lost contact with them.

Oki: We aren’t agents anymore.

Chief: But as a time of crisis, I hereby temporarily reinstate you.

Despite the no fly effect, the six chartered a plane to take them to the Nevada desert. It took about two and a half hours, until they had to jump from the plane. They landed in the middle of the desert. They put on their goggles, and walked to the last known location of the girls. As they approached the spot, they noticed drag lines. Four of them, barely visible. They were observing them, when they were all hit over the head by a non seen attacker. When they all awoke, they were chained to the wall, right next to the girls. In the center of the room, Ezekiel stood. A door in the wall opened. A large man walked in. Oki recognized him from an assassination mission a few months back. One where Ezekiel was the marksman. The man held in his hand, a staff with a blade-like tip, and a moving eye like thing on the top. The man threw a rusted sword to Ezekiel.

Man: You…fight. You…win…go free. You lose…die.

Ezekiel grabbed the blade. The tip wasn’t rusted, so he snapped it off and ran to the wall. The man ran after him. After just minutes, the man had not one scratch. Whereas Ezekiel, was beaten and bleeding from several cuts. Ezekiel stood next to a wall. The man lifted his blade, and lined the tip up with Ezekiel’s stomach. At that point, more men, all in mask came in the room. Each stood next to one of the nine chained furs, and held knifes to their throats. The man charged at Ezekiel. There was “cling” sound, as the blade was stabbed into the rock wall. Ezekiel standing next to it. Ezekiel took the blade tip from his sword and stabbed the eye on the staff. The large man and the nine others burst out yelling, holding their heads. Ezekiel took the sword from the wall, and ran it through the man’s chest. Oki and Arkais managed to rip their chains off the wall, together they tied up one of the men’s neck. He gasped for breath, and fell unconscious. Oki picked up the key and unlocked Arkais. Arkais unlocked him. The two undid the remaining fur’s chains. Oki walked over to the unconscious man, and snapped his neck. Arkais and Trevor breathed flames right into two other men’s faces. Thorn snapped another man’s neck. All but one managed to run out of the room. The remaining man ran at Aura. Aura tripped the man. Instead of breathing flames on the man, she spit up acid. (Yes some dragons spit up acid.) Together, the ten furs walked out of the cave, into a base. They found some trucks in a hanger. As they drove off, Arkais and Trevor shot flames into the hanger. About a mile away, there was an explosion, and a cloud of ash shot up in the sky.

Aura: Thanks for coming guys…despite being civilians, you are really good agents.

Chapter5: Second chance.

The chopper landed at a helipad back at the D.C. base. As soon as the chopper landed and its blades stopped spinning, all ten of the occupants (minus the pilot) were arrested. The four girls were taken to the council chamber as they were. The six guys were cuffed and escorted in. The council came into the room. And from their faces, they weren’t happy.

Councilman1: Well, well. This seems to be a pattern with you six. It’s been a week and your back already. I believe that’s a record. Let’s see what the charges are. One count of breaking code, each. Violating probation, one each. Stealing an organization vehicle, one each. All together, that’s enough to boot you six from this agency and have your memories wiped.

Oki: Well…ok. We accept that.

Coucilman2: Well then. On behave of the court; we sentence you to be-

Aura: Hold on! We have to say something.

Councilman1: Yes Ms. Aura?

Aura: Our report sirs.

Counciman1: Let’s hear it.

Cola: (Clears throat.) ALPHA team. Of the S.P.I.R.O’s American branch. Working in the Northeast sub-branch. This team shows either laziness or a lack of respect for the regulations of the organization by not appointing a team leader. They are arrogant, lazy, unprofessional, and have no battle strategy. They do no research before a mission, and push off the paperwork until the last moment. They cause destruction and mayhem anywhere they go…

Councilman1: Well thank you, now we know what-

Cola: I’m not done.

Cricket: However, despite all of the previously stated faults…this group makes up for them all, and has more to fall back on. Meaning; Despite not appointing a full time leader, they switch the position to whoever seems best qualified for the targets capture/execution. They take precautions, so this leads to them not being able to completely focus on the mission at hand. Public safety comes before their own. They are quick to follow each other into combat, but just as quick to flee. Most are fast. They are strong. And they leave zero margins for error. In our opinion, ALPHA group, though needing work, and possible future observations, is an outstanding group, and is the blurry but still clear image of what this organization needs.

Councilman1: Hmm. We will need time to deliberate.

The council left the room.

Oki: Hmm. Really? Blurry image of this organization?

Cola: Yeah, you try BS-ing it in front of the council.

Arkais: Thanks. You four aren’t too bad…for paper pushers.

Cricket: To be honest, we aren’t used to field work.

Trevor: Couldn’t tell.

The door opened, and the council reentered the room.

Councilman1: After much talking, we have decided to let ALPHA team remain in the organization. Since the violations were made to save the lives of our four guest from central.

Cola: About that sir…I recently violated rules on my own accord.

Councilman1: Hmm?

Cola: Well, I was carrying a fire arm on that mission to La ciudad Del desierto. Non field agents aren’t allowed to carry firearms. I used a UV round, that are only to be used on vampire targets. And I killed the last known female of an endangered super species. Therefore, I have made enough infractions to have me kicked out of this organization.

Councilman1: You’re a little too honest sometimes Cola. We are not going to kick you out. However you’re right. Non-field agents are not permitted to carry weapons. This is why we are placing you four in training for field agents immediately. Although, we don’t have any barracks at the moment…

Oki: Sir, if I may? ALPHA barracks has plenty of room. We may have to do a bit of cleaning, but yeah. And we could take them in. As our in-training’s.

Councilman1: This is a kind offer, considering they tried to have you booted from the organization. We will allow it. Cola, Aura, Angelus, and Cricket. We hereby place you in ALPHA team. They will be your mentors until further notice, or until a time you are out of the training program. This court is adjourned.

The council left the room. The guards removed Alpha team’s chains, and lead them to their barracks. They also removed the unnoticed tracking bracelets.

Oki: Ok trainings, get some rest. We start training first thing tomorrow.

Cola: You are kidding…right?

Arkais: Nope. Tomorrow’s Monday.

Trevor: Monday-Thursday, we wake up really early. Hit the gym. Then the courts. The shooting range. And then the pool.

Cricket: F**k! Where was this enthusiasm the last week?

Oki: Locked in this room, like we were.

Cola: Hmm. Sounds kinda fun actually.

Ezekiel: yeah. So you four, go down that hallway, and hang a right to get to the guest quarters. And get some sleep.

The next morning, Arkais and Oki went in and woke the girls up. Arkais breathing flames in the air and Oki screaming at the top of his lungs. The girls dragged themselves out of bed. The ten walked to the gym, across the building. Arkais, Trevor, Cricket, Aura, and Ezekiel got on treadmills and began running. Oki, Cola, Anglat, and Thorn were hitting the punching bags. Angelus stuck with doing pull ups. After an hour of doing that, the group moved down to the basket ball court. Arkais, Oki, Anglat, Aura, and Angelus were on one team. Ezekiel, Thorn, Cricket, Cola, and Trevor were on another. Arkais’ team ended up winning by a single point. At the shooting range, Oki and Arkais had their normal contest to see who could hit the most targets in a minute. Arkais won for the third time in a row. Ezekiel and Anglat would race to see who could take apart, clean and put their weapons back together. Thorn tried showing the girls how to aim correctly, but after Cricket pointed a gun at him, he chose to back off. Then final the pool came. After everything they could cool off. They all got in, but when they all looked around, Oki was nowhere to be found.

Aura: He do this often?

Arkais: Yeah. Says something about having water sensitive fur or something. Anyways, I’m doing some laps.

After a few hours of swimming, the group got out and went back to their barracks. When they arrived, the whole place was clean. They looked and saw Oki sitting on the couch playing some game.

Cola: Your handy work?

Oki: Hmm? Oh yeah. I clean in my spare time. And I wasn’t up to swimming. Oh, we got new orders. Says here there are five new missions for us on the table. We’ve been pre-paired up.

Chapter6: Missing persons…

Oki: Ok…I still don’t get what the hell we’re supposed to be doing.

Aura: You didn’t even read the mission report or any details on this did you?

Oki: Nope. (Looks over to a glaring Aura.) Ugh. It’s something about people disappearing?

Aura: So you did read it?

Oki: Nope. I glanced.

Aura: Well you’re right. There have been a series of disappearances. Including one black level scout for the organization.

Oki: A black level scout?!  Those guys are like hawks. Fierce and able to spot danger when it gets near them. This must be a high ranking mission.

Aura: Yeah. It’s a four star.

Oki: Damn…well. First four star mission ever and I get stuck with a rookie. Oh well. It’s just missing person’s right?

The two drove past a sign that read: WELCOME TO ROADMONT: CITY OF SOIL.

Oki: They weren’t kidding. They apparently have never heard of paving.

Aura: The people here seem to have adapted to it. So what’s the point in stripping them of something they’ve grown used to?

Oki: Well, if we’re going to do this, we might as well get a hotel room.

The two stopped at the only hotel in the small town. They paid for a large room, and set up their equipment.

Oki: So, I’m going to look around the town. Get a layout.

Aura: That’s actually a good idea. Ok, report back if anything happens ok?

Oki: Yeah I know the drill.

Oki walked out of the hotel and walked along the streets. He didn’t notice much about the town that would lead him to believe there were disappearances going on. He took out his iPod, and looked through a list of the pictures of the missing people. He walked into a mini mart, and bought two coffees. He went to pay for them, and noticed that the clerk was glaring at him. He paid for the coffees and left the store. He was a few steps out the door, when he realized something; the clerk in the store, he had seen his picture somewhere before. He turned around to go back into the store, but the clerk was gone. He turned and ran back to the hotel. Meanwhile, Aura was sitting in the room, looking through the mission’s details, when Oki burst in.

Oki: Here, got ya some coffee.

Aura: What’s up?

Oki: Nothing…I think I’m losing it.

Aura: Well, I know what will cheer you up.

Oki: And that would be?

Aura: Some pizza. I called it in like ten minutes ago. Go pick it up.

Oki: Ok.

Oki walked down the street, and to the WILD FOREST PIZZA AND PUB. He walked in, and no one was there. He walked to the counter, and set his com watch down. A man walked up behind the counter.

Man: Help…you?

Oki: Yeah, I have a pizza waiting. Either for Oki or Aura.

The man walked back and brought back a pizza. He handed it to Oki and Oki left. Oki made it back to the hotel, when he realized he left his com watch at the pub. He walked back, and walked in, the man was gone. He picked up his watch and was walking out, when he heard a crash from the kitchen. He ran back to help, and saw a small puddle of blood. He took out his gun and walked slowly to the puddle. There was a drag line to the back door. Oki couldn’t follow the trail in the dark. So he took some blood as a sample and ran back to the hotel. Oki gave it to Aura, who said the blood look coagulated. They took the sample and sent it to a researcher at central for proof.

Researcher: Well, you two were right to send this to me. It’s not coagulated. It’s mixed with soil. But what’s troubling, is that the soil isn’t just soil, it has some chemical or substance in it my computers can’t recognize.

Oki stopped listening and looked over at the window. He walked over and shut the curtains. Suddenly, from outside the door, there was a yell. Oki pulled his gun and opened the door. A man was running up the stairs, when he fell and started screaming for mercy. There was the sound of a liquid hitting the floor, and the power went out. Oki shut and locked the door. The two stood still. Aura tried to stand but froze when the candle light from the hall, showed there was someone in front of the door. The doorknob shook violently. A fist punched through the door, where the doorknob was. The fist retracted, and the door opened slowly. A figure shrouded in shadows entered the room. Oki started firing at it. He unloaded an entire clip (35 shot), into the creature. It fell to the ground. Oki closed the door. Aura used some large glow sticks to light the room. The creature was still black and smelled sweet, and sour. Oki took a sample from it, and was putting it in his pack when the door burst open and more of those things ran in. Aura and Oki jumped out the window, and fell to the ground below. However, more of those creatures were there. They managed to run away, but the creatures followed close behind them. They looked, and saw a glow in the distance. They ran into an ally, and climbed over the wall at the end. They reached the area, and saw a large pattern in the dirt.

Oki: I knew it. Golems.

Aura: Golems?

Oki: Creatures more commonly made of soil, but can be made of just about any substance. They have a sickly sweet and sour smell to them when they die. This thing is a transmutation circle. Someone is mass producing these Golems. And using people and soil to do so.

???: Correct my young agent.

A man in a black suit appeared from the forest.

Oki: And here we have the alchemist responsible.

???: Yes it’s true. You see, my Golems have kept this town from dying for ages now. And I’m not letting you stop that. Besides, without the Golem, people would come here looking for my gold.

The man clapped his hands together, and placed them on the ground. Dozens of Golems started to rise from the ground. Aura took out her gun, and began firing on them.

Oki: Don’t bother; he can just raise them up again. Kill him and destroy the circle.

Oki was put in charge of destroying the circle. He came up with an idea though. He and Aura charged at the man. He tried to run, but a large Golem accidently blocked his path. Oki shoved the man into the circle, and activated the circle. The surrounding Golems marched into the circle. There was a bright shine of light. Oki took out his lighter, and lit it. The light just barely showed something running away. Whatever it was wasn’t important, for now. Over head, an S.P.I.R.O issued carrier chopper hovered. A ladder fell, and the area was flooded with soldiers.

Chapter7: The celebration begins: No time for the past?

A chopper landed on a helipad. Oki, Aura, Cola, Arkais, Ezekiel, Anglat, Angelus, Thorn, Cricket an Trevor stepped out of it, all looking exhausted.

Oki: Never again. That was just ridiculous.

Cola: I know right? Three whole days to track down and kill a mummy.

Arkais: It’s over now guys. Let’s just get some sleep.

Voice over intercom: Team ALPHA report to the Chief’s office immediately. Repeat team ALPHA report to the Chief’s office immediately.

Arkais: DAMN IT!

The group walked into the base, and to the elevator. They all got off on the top floor. They walked through what was normally a crowded office area. Now, there was no one in sight. The group walked to a large steel door, and each said their names. The doors opened, and the Chief was sitting at his desk.

Cola: Chief? It’s ALPHA group. Did you need something?

Chief: Yes. I wanted to tell you something. But…I forgot what it was. Go ask Kat in information to come here. I gave her a note to remind me in case I forgot. Go fetch her for me.

Ezekiel: Now we’re his dogs?

The group turned around and opened the large doors again. This time, the office area was pitch black. The group slowly walked in slowly. The lights came on, and everyone working in the head quarters was there. There was a large banner reading 100 missions. The group of people yelled surprise, and the Chief appeared on the walk way above.

Chief: Now I remember. (Clears throat) Team ALPHA, of the Washington D.C sub branch, of the North American branch of S.P.I.R.O: Your latest mission on tracking down and executing the Necromancer plaguing Egypt, has pushed your group’s number of completed missions to 100 in a row. This accomplishment hasn’t been done for well over twenty years. And has only happened three times in the organization’s history. Therefore, S.P.I.R.O international has granted the group an exceptional pay raise, as well as the rest of the day off for them and the entire sub branch.

Everyone in room: YEAH!

Everyone in the building congratulated the group. The Chief stayed on the walkway above the room, looking down at everyone. He was staring into space, when the D.C branch representative walked up to him.

Rep: Chief….Chief?

Chief: Hmm? Oh sorry. I was just thinking. It’s been so long since anyone has gotten over 100 missions.

Rep: I know. They need a new challenge.

Chief: I know. That’s why I’m giving them a cold case.

Rep: A cold case huh? That’s an honor in this organization. Which one you giving them? Five?

Chief: No...

Rep: Four?

Chief: Still no.

Rep: Wow. To get assigned Cold Cases two or three, is a big task to accept.

Chief: It’s not either of those two.

Rep: Well, one’s nearly impossible to solve.

Chief: I’m giving them Cold Case “X”

The representative stopped cold. He dropped his drink down to the floor below. The shattering sound caused everyone to look up at him.

Rep: Sorry everyone lost my hold on it. I’m too clumsy sometimes.

The rep gave a fake smile and everyone went back to what they were doing.

Rep: Are you out of your f*****g mind? Cold Case “X” Doesn’t exists remember?

Chief: We’ve had new sightings and disappearances. They are the best group we got. I’m giving it to them tomorrow. Letting them enjoy today…the last normal day they’ll see for a while.

The rep and the Chief looked down at the group. The party ended not to long after the Chief made his announcement to the rep. The next morning, the Chief called ALPHA into his office.

Chief: Take a seat you guys. Tell me something: You all enjoy it here yes? (The group nodded.) Good. Because I’m going to give you a special assignment…ever hear of a Cold case mission?

Chapter8: The man in the suit (1/3): The impossible case….

Ezekiel: Uh…cold case…cold case…Oh yeah. The cold case files here at the organization are some of the most famous things in the world.

Chief: That’s correct. There are…six cold case files. The first five are famous.

Anglat: Oh yeah that’s right. I think number five is: Bigfoot right?

Chief: Yeah.

Angelus: Number four is…I think The Bermuda Triangle.

Ezekiel: Yeah, and number three is a personal favorite of mine. Nome Alaska.

Arkais: Number two, is Area 51.

Chief: And number one is The Loch Ness monster.

Cola: Chief…you said there were six. And…that’s only five.

Chief: True. Because the sixth one technically doesn’t exist in the eyes of international. This last case is yours. However, you must all verbally and contractually agree to never tell anyone about this mission. And to pursue this mission until you solve it, are kicked off, or are dead. Do you all agree?

All: Yes sir.

Chief: Good. Room lockdown. (Air hisses) Are any of you familiar with a man that has come to be known as…The Slender man?

Oki: (quiet gasp) Th…that’s our case huh?

Chief: You seem to know that name.

Oki: I’ve done my fair share of research.

Chief: Care to enlighten the rest of the class?

Oki: I only know what I’ve read. He’s supposedly been here since before Egyptian times. There are carvings of him all over the place. We know it’s the same thing, because all of the pictures are the same if not too similar to be coincidence. The public story is that he was made up as part of an online monster contest. We control the site. We had to come up with something that wouldn’t be too obvious. The reports and sightings of him are normally the same, in physical description as well as the way he acts.

Arkais: What do you mean?

Oki: His physical appearance is always the same: Tall man. Black suit with a red tie. He almost always has his hands at his sides. His facial features…or lack thereof: a head, but no eyes, no nose, and no mouth…nothing. If a head at all. Some reports state people only ever see a black mass resembling a head. There some reports saying he can even stretch his body and hands to unimaginable shapes, to terrify and ensnare his targets.

Cola: That’s…really creepy.

Chief: Yeah. Well you know what you’re dealing with to a degree.  Better go get some coffee, energy drinks, whatever you need.

Aura: For what?

Chief: We have hundreds of videos, audio, eye witness reports, and pictures regarding this case. You guys are in for a long night.

The room unlocked and the group walked out of the Chief’s room. Oki, Arkais, Ezekiel, Thorn, and Trevor went three floors down to the REC room. They returned to the tenth floor’s third conference room with twenty large boxes.

Anglat: We have a LONG night ahead of us.

The group began reading, looking watching, and listening to everything in the boxes. A few hours passed…

Oki: Ok, quick check up. What do we know about our target?

Anglat: He’s gotta be some kind of Nightmare realm creature or being. He causes things like cameras to short out.

Thorn: I gotta go with Anglat on this one. He isn’t normal.

Oki: We know that. Anything else?

Cola: He isn’t afraid of being seen. He’ll appear in the middle of the day, in public, and just take people.

Aura: he isn’t afraid of people. He’ll walk up to them in their house. I have a report here that a farmer threatened him with a double barrel shotgun, and the guy wasn’t fazed.

Angelus: My question is: how the hell this guy moves around so fast.

Arkais: I’m going with Anglat there and saying Nightmare realm creature.

Oki: Yeah. Ok, back to research.

They all went back to researching. More time passed. Oki looked at his watch, and saw that it was eleven o’clock, the next day.

Oki: Oh my god…this has to stop.

Arkais: (loud crash) Damn it Thorn! Watch what the hell you’re doing.

Thorn: Go to hell Arkais.

Arkais: Screw you!

Thorn: Screw you!

Oki: Enough! All of you get some rest. Cola, let’s go, we’re getting coffee.

Cola: Ok. We’ll be back.

Oki and Cola left the base and went downtown. They stopped and bought two coffees.

Cola: I thought we were getting coffee?

Oki: Is that not a coffee cup in your hand?

Cola: Then why didn’t the other’s come to?

Oki: Because I wanted to spend a bit of time with you away from them.

Cola blushed and the two continued to walk along. They were passing by a park when they saw a woman crying near some trees.

Oki: Ma’am are you ok? I’m agent Wagner; this is my partner agent Strange we’re with the FBI. Is everything ok?

Woman: No, no everything’s not ok. My little girls missing.

Cola: Do you have a picture of her? We can ask others if they’ve seen her.

The woman handed a picture from her purse to Cola. The two ran towards a large group of people. Oki ran up to a woman and her son.

Oki: Ma’am, agent Wagner: FBI. Have you seen this child?

Boy: That’s Julie.

Oki: You know her?

Boy: Yeah. She went with the nice man.

Oki: Nice man?

Boy: Yeah. He comes here a lot lately. He has a weird voice and is really tall.

Oki stopped and stared at the boy. The words echoing in his head.

Oki: (grabs the boy’s shoulders) what does this man look like? You have to tell me.

Boy: He’s really tall. He’s in a suit like my daddy wears. He’s a business man. He wears a really weird mask. It doesn’t have any eye holes or anything. And he can do weird things with his hands. They can stretch out really long.

Oki: (Squeezes kid tighter) Where did you see him!?

Boy: Over there by that tree…you’re hurting me.

Oki: Sorry. (Let’s go) Agent Strange! (Cola runs over) We got a positive ID. It’s Him. We need the rest of the team.

Cola and Oki ran back to their car and peeled out towards the base. They arrived and quickly took the elevator to the tenth floor. When they arrived, all hell was breaking loose.

Chief: Nagasaki! Kingsman! What the hell have you two been doing?

Oki: Meaning?

Chief: We got reports coming in from all over the town. What did you two do?

Cola: Sir we have some new information about target “X”.

Chief: STOP!

Everyone stopped and looked between the Chief and the two agents.

Chief: Your teams in the conference room. Go. I’ll be there in a second.

Oki and Cola walked to the conference room. They walked in to find everyone asleep. The Chief walked in behind Oki and yelled.

Chief: Get up you lazy asses! While you lot have been sleeping, Oki and cola got some new information on your case. Cola?

Cola: Well, we were getting some coffee, and ran into this woman at the park. She said her daughter had gone missing. Another kid described the abductor as: Slender man.

Chapter9: The man in the suit: (2/3): Taken down a few pegs…

The room was silent. The news that their target was in DC was overwhelming. The Chief sat down in a chair, stunned.

Arkais: So…he’s here in DC?

Oki: If what this kid said is true.

Chief: What exactly did he say?

Oki: He said the man was in a suit. Had a weird faceless mask on. Was tall. And could stretch his hands.

Anglat: Yep. That’s his description.

Oki: The boy said he goes there a lot too. So assuming that kid keeps his mouth shut to his parents, we should be able to set up a sting. We all head to the park and chill there until he shows.

Thorn: Sounds good. Let’s do it.

The group cleaned up the conference room, and went to the fourth floor. The fourth floor had hearing walkie- talkies with headphones, cameras, and other spying devices. The group got everything they needed, and left. They decided it would look more believable if they all arrived at different times. Cricket and Angelus were two joggers stopping to chat with one another. Thorn, Anglat, Arkais, and Ezekiel were some guys playing football. Aura was just wandering Trevor was a bike rider going through. And having already revealed their fake FBI personas, Oki and Cola were investigating the disappearances. It had been four hours, with no sign of their target…

Oki: Ok, everyone, it’s been four hours. Let’s wrap it up.

Trevor: Ok I…wait…what the hell? I got something. Oki come back? (Static)

Oki: What was that? Repeat? (Static) Got…thing.

Cola: I think he means he has something.

Cricket: Target spotted! Target spotted!

Everyone turned to where Cricket was running. Trevor was further ahead, running towards a tree. Oki and the others all drew their weapons and chased after him as well. Trevor was the first to arrive. He pulled his weapon out, and fired a shot in the air. A man slowly stepped out of the shadows. Oki and the others arrived and looked at the man. There was no mistaking it. They were looking at the supposed Slender Man.

Oki: Ok…Th-that’s it. Put your hands up.

Slender Man: No…you stop. Things are no longer in your control. Things…are being found.

Before anyone could pull a trigger, a loud crash behind them startled everyone. They turned to see a body, dead, lying on the ground. Everyone turned back, and the Slender man was gone. It was a quiet walk back to the cars. Upon entering, they each received a message from their Chief.

Chief over recording: While you guys were gone a package came for you. It had a tape inside. Slender man knows who you are. The tape shows a lot of nothing.  But near the end, a voice says: “Control is being taken. We’ve seen through the mask you have. We’re coming for you.” The package has a return address, from here in DC. Head over their now. Address is being uploaded to your GPS systems. Good luck.

The group drove away from the park, towards the address. Meanwhile, back at base:

Chief: Damn it. Why the hell haven’t they checked in yet?

Man: (knock on door.) Sir?

Chief: Yes?

Man: Well it’s just…I think we’ve had a perimeter breach.

Chief: You think we’ve had a breach? How do you think we’ve had a breach?

Man: Look…

The man held up a small screen. Showing the 2nd Basement floor. The images showed nothing at first. Until about two minutes in. A black mass slowly moved around the corridor corner. At that moment, the security camera started to catch nothing but static.

Chief: My god he’s here.

The Chief ran over and hit a button underneath his desk. An alarm began to sound. Large metal gates lowered over the windows. The elevators shut down. And all electrical powered doors shut down. Everyone in the building had weapons ready. A voice rang out. Echoing throughout the building.

???: The man you would follow….so…so blindly. He lies! He tells you nothing of the truth! It wouldn’t matter…I’m taking him from this world.

Everyone turned to the Chief who merely looked around. There was a scream heard somewhere below. The Chief slowly walked back into his office. He turned around. And he was there…

Chief: Slender man…

Slender man: You still…remember me.

Slender man: It’s not hard to remember the man who slaughtered my team.

Slender man: That’s…in the past my friend. It’s time to come with me.

Chief: Ha…you’re sadly mistaken if you think I’m going willingly.

Meanwhile, back with the group, they were arriving at the address during the Slender man break in.

Oki: Ugh, there’s nothing here.

Cricket: Yeah…maybe- (Bush rustles) Hey, come out of there.

Everyone pointed their weapons at the bush. A man slowly crawled out.

Man: Please, you’re ALPHA right? Please tell me you are.

Oki: Yeah…that’s us. What are you doing here?

Man: He took her. The guy in the suit took my daughter! Please, he said that if I did this I could get her back. WHERE IS SHE!?

Arkais: Damn…sir I’m sorry to tell you this…but she’s not coming back.

Man: I knew this would happen. I hope he gets killed at the building I sent the tape to.

All: WHAT!?

Everyone got in the cars and drove as fast as they could back to their base. As they came over a hill, they saw it: The base in shambles. There was smoke coming from it. Windows busted out everywhere. The group ran up the first flight of stairs, up to the tenth floor. The Chief was gone. Everyone split up, to look for survivors. They couldn’t find any. As they were walking to the buildings front exit, a large black mass moved towards Trevor. Cricket pushed Thorn into Trevor, sending Trevor falling back. The mass caught Thorn and rushed away from the group. Arkais quickly threw a tracking chip on Thorn as the shadow moved past him. The shadow rounded a corner, and Thorn’s yells for help faded away. The group turned and looked at Cricket, who merely slumped her head down, and whispered something. The group walked away from the rubble that was once their base. They got in their cars and drove off. To where, they had no clue.

Chapter10: The man in the suit: (3/3): The final stand…

The group stopped at a coffee shop. They all sat there, sulking.

Cola: So…what do we do?

Oki: we need to stick together for one…

Arkais: Should we go to international?

Ezekiel: And tell them what genius? Our entire base was destroyed and we managed to survive? That right there’s a red flag.

Anglat: And what do you suppose we do?

Trevor: Well…we have some weapons in the trunks. We could finish this assignment. As a last goodbye for the Chief.

Woman: Excuse me? Um are you…ALPHA group?

Oki: Yeah…um…how do you know us?

Woman: Oh I don’t. A tall man in a business suit came in earlier. He asked if I would give this to you. (Hands a video camera.)

The group sat there, wide eyed staring at the camera.

Angelus: Should…should we watch it?

Cola: I think we should.

Arkais: She’s right…we should watch it.

Oki: Ok.

Everyone crowded around Oki as he hit play on. The camera screen didn’t show anything but a black screen. Sounds were heard. Bodies being drug across a floor. The camera’s light came on and showed the Chief. He was either dead or unconscious. A familiar voice was heard on the tape.

Slender man’s voice: You see? He ran from the truth. You have seen the truth, and must also be caught. You….you must not live. You must not survive! YOU MUST NOT SURVIVE!

The camera screen went pitch black after that. They all stared at the blank screen. Half horrified, and half angry.

Oki: Ok…that’s it. We take this guy out…tonight.

Arkais: Easier said than done Oki. We gotta find this guy first.

Anglat: Can Ezekiel and I see the camera real quick?

Oki: Sure. (Hands camera) And I know that. We know he goes to the parks. But it would be dangerous if we went there and had an all out gun battle.

Cola: Not to mention it would reveal the organization.

Trevor: Damn it. We have the weapons. But no location and no target to use them on.

Ezekiel: Not true. We know where he is. And the Chief too.

All: where?

Anglat: On that building right there. (Points out window)

Oki: How can you tell that?

Ezekiel: Here look (shows tape.) When the night vision light comes on, look what the Chief is next to. It’s the ledge. And below…there (points to screen) is the building below. So…we just gotta go up there.

Cola: Now? Shouldn’t we wait until dark?

Arkais: He’ll only have an advantage. We gotta strike now.

Everyone walked outside. Leaving the camera on the table. They piled into the cars and drove to the building Ezekiel identified. They opened the trunk and piled out weapon after weapon.

Oki: Don’t forget the UV rounds. He may not be a nocturnal type creature, but they still cause harm. Everyone loaded?

Others: Yes

Oki: Arkais. Get it.

Cricket: It?

Arkais: A weapon we had the scientist working on. They say the area of effect is about thirty yards or so.

Oki: So basically, when we use it, we gotta haul a*s to get off the roof?

Arkais nodded and tucked the bomb in his pocket. The group entered the building. Inside was no one. For thirteen floors, there was nothing but circles with “X’s” drawn through them. Finally, the group arrived at the top of the building. The air was still. In the roof’s center was a large black mass. The mass was moving. The group approached it. The mass formed into a tall humanoid shape. Everyone readied their weapons.

Slender man: So…you have seen past the lies. And come to your death.

Oki: We came for our Chief. Where is he?

Slender man: …

Arkais: Forget it Oki. He won’t talk.

Slender man’s arm stretched out towards Arkais. The arm wrapped around Arkais’ mouth and face.

Slender man: I detest people who can’t keep their mouths shut.

Slender man’s arm rose and stretched towards the end. Everyone began firing at the arm that had Arkais captured. After a few lucky hits, Slender man retracted his arm.

Slender man: Control is being taken from you now!

The Slender man’s body morphed into a taller spider like form (still two arms two legs.) On arm stretched out, and knocked Angelus and Trevor to the ground, and pinned them there. A leg kicked Arkais and Ezekiel down. Oki began shooting at the main body but stopped. The slender man regained his previous form. Everyone watched as Oki slowly walked towards Slender man. He was a few feet away when he stopped, and took out his UV round run and began firing. The rounds appeared to be working. The others joined in as well. Eventually, all rounds were used up. By that time, the Slender man’s form was shorter, and his face had actual facial features to it.

Slender man: No…you…you can’t do this to me. Without me, there is no organization. The whole point to S.P.I.R.O was to train people to fight me. You will be nothing, NOTHING! I AM SPIRO!

Oki: Wake up man. (Triggers bomb) You ain’t nothing but ashes.

Oki threw the bomb on Slender man. Everyone ran in opposite directions and jumped off the roof, opening their parachutes right as they jumped. There was a loud explosion. The top three floors of the building exploded. Shards of metal and glass rained down. Surprisingly, everyone made it down safely. They all met by the cars, and looked up and the smoke engulfed roof.

Epilogue: The after math…

Oki narrating: The months following the case were pretty eventful. We got a new Chief. It was actually international leader. I guess he thought it was impressive that we solved the case, so he wanted to be the leader of the team that solved the case. Only he’ll have to wait a few more months. Whatever happened to the base was worse than it looked. There were busted pipes, steel supports, and even broken elevators. Not that we mind. We’re getting paid our old salary for each day the base is being fixed. We could retire early. But who would want to give up on the missions? In the meantime, our new Chief put us up in an S.P.I.R.O controlled complex for awhile. It’s cozy…I guess. We never did find Thorn. But we found the Chief’s body. Let’s just say, we didn’t have any open casket services. And we had to make a public announcement that we had “caught” the suspected kidnapper in the DC area. People bought it. And the real FBI never said anything. We do the work, they  get the respect. Go figure. Anyways, we were all on a bus to see a movie…

Arkais: Will you hand over the tickets? I don’t want you losing mine this time.

Cola: Oh, I lost yours? You burned yours when you sneezed on it.

Oki: Does it really matter at this point?

Ezekiel: Seriously, give it a rest.

Arkais: (Watch beeps) what the hell?

Oki: Message?

Arkais: No…it’s my. (Eyes widen) it’s…my tracker.

Oki: Tracker?

Anglat: What are you tracking?

Arkais: I’ve only used one tracker guys…

The beeping pace quickened. As the bus passed a tall tree, Thorn was standing there. Rather than eyes, he had sharpie circles with “X’s” drawn through them. And behind him stood, the Slender man. Both Slender man, and Thorn faded into the shadows.

Oki narrating: It just goes to show you; when dealing with the world of the paranormal, and the super natural. Never say case closed, until the case is truly closed. This has been agent Oki Nagasaki. Member one of ALPHA group. Of the DC sub branch, of the American branch of S.P.I.R.O. And I, am signing off.        END…
