Suicide - III - Tragedy turned comedy

Suicide - III - Tragedy turned comedy

A Poem by Diwakar - "The Warrior of Will"
"

Tragedy turned comedy

"

Standing on the edge,

I gazed the sky,

Took one step ahead,

To end the life’s tie.

Just when I was about to touch the earth,

Got entangled in wires like spy,

Oh gosh! These Transmission lines,

I got jumbled between earth and sky.

A boy gazed and shouted,

“Super Man intertwined in spider web” in bliss,

My body hanging upside down,

As if waiting for heroin to kiss

First time in history,

 I abused the electricity failure,

I just wanted to die,

Not wanted these people’s lure.

The world seems upside down,

I was hanging like a wall clock,

People were flinging things,

As if I was there shuttle c**k.

An old man screamed “Jump I am here”,

I looked at him and yelled,

Dam! Do you think I am here for joy,

I am strangled, You Dumb head.

“Then hang like an owl” he sighed,

It’s your life, you can crash”,

Oh lord! What’s this?,

Now a crow sits on my a*s

Dam you crow this is not a time for fun,

My hand are tied by gravity,

For god sake move from my butt,

Do something with sanity.

Suddenly I heard Fire brigade coming,

I yelled “I am here, save me”,

They went passed me shouting,

lol you looks like a Chimpanzee.

Oh lord! Please don’t play game,

I want to die,

Rain started to pour,

Smashing water on my last try.

This is both a sad and droll romp into that final line that leaves as enormous question mark .. in my mind anyway. The theme of your post is tragic, how can one write about it without cold dark facts yet, somehow you twist its tail and make it seem almost humdrum, usual - a satire perhaps, meant or not.

I just love how you twisted something allegedly tragic, into a hilarious tale. And also, it talks about the irony- the subject had to be saved while attempting suicide. The rhyme is catchy, and it just changes the whole suicide aspect, which would have been really hurtful if written, and I was glad that the suicide didn't happen. Suicide is cruel, actually. I just don't get why people kill themselves, and well, the poem had a well deserved ending. Good job.

It was a nice read and I agree with Coyote, suicide is a hard topic to write about...But still, this piece was great and well penned...I enjoyed the poem...Well done!

Suicide is a hard subject to write about. I have lost many to suicide. We did not know their desire till it was too late. I like the description and internal struggle of this poem. A powerful poem.

I dont know why but it seemed a little choppy for me as far as the flow of it all. But I enjoyed it as a whole - the comedic approach you took throughout the piece. Nicely written write.

I usually don't read stuff like this, that has harsh words in it,
But I did enjoy it,

Oh lord! What’s this?,
Now a crow sits on my a*s

I did enjoyed this part of it. Well written write.

That was very good. It was different than the last two. Kinda unexpected with the crow. Nice touch though. And your right; tragedy turned comedy.
