My Lost Shining Star

My Lost Shining Star

A Poem by SmileBig :)

There are secret words I never share

Blood stained clothes no one ever sees,

There are those people who never seem to care,

And then there are those people who love me.

I tell them all lies, no matter who they are

And I hide my secrets in a tightly locked case.

A while ago, I lost my shining star...

And then...only a fake smile appeared on my face.

I've had that fake smile for a long while now,

And I can't seem to find the real one; I wish I could.

But that's the past. Can I bring her back? How?

I dont think it's possible, but if I could I would.

I miss my shining star, and I miss my smile.

I miss her kindness, and the way she used to hug me tight...

I know I haven't seen her in a while,

But I want her to take this darkness and make it light.

That's impossible.
And I hate that.

So sad... I have the same strong connection with my grandmother. She's like my second mom. I don't want her to die but she's 84 now. It's gonna happen sometime... :(

I love how you called her your "shining star". A very lovely image. :)

The flow of this is great and you are wonderful with words!

Such sadness in this. To lose your shining star and to lose your smile, I can feel the sense of loss you have for your grandmother. A sad yet beautifully written poem.

Welcome :)
Lost my grandmother last year, wasn't the same for a good few weeks. She was the glue that held my large family together, aunts, uncles, cousins, now some of them barely talk. Its amazing what an impact a person can have but we don't see it until they are gone. Great write :)
