My Lost Shining Star

My Lost Shining Star

A Poem by SmileBig :)

There are secret words I never share

Blood stained clothes no one ever sees,

There are those people who never seem to care,

And then there are those people who love me.

I tell them all lies, no matter who they are

And I hide my secrets in a tightly locked case.

A while ago, I lost my shining star...

And then...only a fake smile appeared on my face.

I've had that fake smile for a long while now,

And I can't seem to find the real one; I wish I could.

But that's the past. Can I bring her back? How?

I dont think it's possible, but if I could I would.

I miss my shining star, and I miss my smile.

I miss her kindness, and the way she used to hug me tight...

I know I haven't seen her in a while,

But I want her to take this darkness and make it light.

That's impossible.
And I hate that.

So sad... I have the same strong connection with my grandmother. She's like my second mom. I don't want her to die but she's 84 now. It's gonna happen sometime... :(

I love how you called her your "shining star". A very lovely image. :)

The flow of this is great and you are wonderful with words!

Very touching, sad piece... my grams is my shining star and I don't ever want to take her for granted because she means the world to me. She's in my heart and prayers especially now that she's growing older all the while. Expressive write, thanks for sharing ;)

One of my grandma's died when I was nine as well. The other died when I was six. I loved my grandma's and I agree with you, I miss them like some people would never believe. Thanks for expressing that.

aww... I lost my grandmother on my birthday :P it sucks. I'm sorry for you, and I'm sure she's stil watching over you and that she would be very proud of this, and of you, for being brave enough to carry on without her guidance. Sometimes we have to learn to light our own darkness.
