Oh, Sweet Child of Gaza

Oh, Sweet Child of Gaza

A Poem by PearlPoet

Oh, sweet child of Gaza

today, you have escaped

another day of yesterdays

to kneel alive

upon the sorrow of your domain.

Broken, orphaned ,

lost beyond our mortal eyes

within the shapeless forlorn.

Terrified to go to sleep

and so afraid to dream…

Just longing alone for

Easeful Dawn

to cease the pain with its nurturing rays,

for balm to your eyes are only the

unfinished farewells of life,

whispered through

the sullen gloom of fallen bombs

Yet, you must

Believe

in a coming of a better tomorrow

for it will bring

Peace

before your flame-colored eyes

letting you embrace

Freedom

That which you have never

touched before..

Oh, sweet child of Gaza

Breathe!

Hope!

Weep!

Let your tears stream,

onto the ground they must descend

to make moist with the dust of sacrifices.

And from the nourishing clay of tomorrow

life's primrose will grow

and bloom on the distant hills of evermore

where unborn children play

filling the air with sweet songs

As they await for their forthcoming mother's

Loving embrace

Wrapped in garlands of peace...

When will adults wake up to the needless fighting to realize it is the children who are hurt the most. What are leaving to the next generation? Your write deeply moved me.

An amazing poem with a wonderful and touching poem. It breaks our hearts that two people who call each other cousins are bitter enemies and don't want to move past that and bring a great future of hope to both people where both are winners instead of haters. Long live peace and love. Pen on...:).....................

Your poem is heartfelt and brought tears to my eyes -- I have written similar poem long ago and shall share it in time, but, your verse pierces the marrow and seeps the humaneness in the artery.

What a gorgeous ink, you have ! Keep penning... Love it. Cheers

A true poet has played his historical duty for a child who is panicked, tortured and killed by the satanic forces.
Thank you Dear Friend for giving the message of Peace and Freedom to the sweet child of Gaza and subsequently to each child of the whole world.

Thank you Scott for your words! Yes Perhaps someday...
Oh this is intense, and brought me some inner tears, you have written a piece of truth, and your compassion towards the Gaza is honored by me. War, on every place in the world is heart wrenching, and especially if it hits children. You can take out a child of a war, but the war remains inside of a child...

The music is beyond touching, there are classical aspects to this mix, that touch me deeply.

you opened eyes, with this one, to everyone, and I thank you for writing it. Sincerely,

- Elisa x
