Monster

Monster

A Poem by John Holmes
"

I felt inspired, this is what happened when you feel love.

"
I have seen monsters
I have seen dreams
and Nightmares bold
darkest nights and baneful moons
I have seen the monsters under your bed
I have seen the monsters in your head
I have seen the monster
that is you

I have seen men make the monster
I have known Frankenstein
with his bottle of golden liquid
he so elegantly pours down his throat
I have seen his monster
and it is him

I have witnessed the burning  destruction
that is your lust
fallen angel
your need
your desire
it is a poison I will not touch
even if I wish to dam myself

and yet
I took the fire in my veins
and the ocean blue in my lungs
I took the storm in my mind
that ranging typhoon
of unknown power
of desire beyond
the flesh the monsters
so eagerly devour

Power of the human heart
the most terrifying monster
I have ever seen
Never
dared I dream
in the boldest of nightmares
a monster
that changed everything
with the simplest of words

Words that change everything
"I Love you"
