(The Parlour) One false move

(The Parlour) One false move

A Poem by John Holmes
"

The Parlours second lesson, and another poem as promised.

"
I just had a panic
A worry
I was afraid
I was annoyed
I thought that was
it
Check Mate
All done
All Lost
and then
and then
I tried
again
and just then
Succeeded
I just
breathed
and my check mate
become
round two
And I
Could not
Believe.... that in that moment...
I gave up on everything
on Myself
on fat e
and joy
and Love
Woe be to me
for being such
a fool
one false move
one bad draw
one hundred
thousand
bad rolls
does not
consummate
Failure
Giving up
Does
