Your Own Tune.A Poem by John HolmesInspired by peoples reviews and reactions to my work "Pied Piper" So this will make more sense if you read that piece of work. http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/caringleo/1186370/People often ask me why do we listen to the Pied Piper? why his tune? why do we all dance to that tune? I could say because it is everything, every virtue, every sin. but that would be too easy. the simple fact is, my mere mortals. We are all playing our own Pied Pipers tunes. Pondering and wondering, of maybes and goodbyes. Playing a tune we do not hear. never truly. never completely. For we are critiques of ourselves. critics of the most dastardly order. Critics who destroy their own work. Please, hear me mere mortals. Play your pied Pipers tune. But do not listen to it. watch it appear upon the faces of your friends. and strangers too. That way. You may, for just a moment. Hear how beautiful you're to those you think better of you than yourself.
