Pied PiperA Poem by John HolmesFate and the devil. twisted lines and scattered stars. Life. people you me us. that is all.Women call me a man bards a poet wise men a gentleman the lonely call me company and the scared courage light calls me dark i call her white the wind whispers my name but you all hear it different like the tune of the pied piper i’m different for everyone For every shadow you see theirs a door to be opened a path to be followed a light to extinguish and a dream to be made For what is life but sweet honey and extravagance For what is company when hell is are destination and Heavens hope are folly For what are you, but simple men and women dancing to the pied pipers tune my whispers in your ear add to the tune as do a choir to the chorus of the Dead envy hate love ambition pride these are the virtues and these are the sins I whisper them to you so that you may be of them as you dance to the pied pipers tune. © 2014 John HolmesAuthor's Note
