Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time

A Poem by TheOther

Sitting on the balcony,
aroma of the night.
We used to dream together,
we aimed for the stars.

Once upon a time...
We sang to the tunes of the world.
We danced to the heartbeats of love.
We knew how to fly.

Once upon a time,
we runned through the fields and skies.
We climbed trees and played like childs do.
We were blessed.

Once upon a time,
We looked each other in the eye,
without fear nor guilt
and we could find the essence of life.

Once upon a time,
We knew how to feel...
Once upon a time,
we lived.

it is a beautiful write with an atmosphere of melancholy created in subtle nuances that reminisce in bittersweet folds~
makes me wonder how we lose~where we lose those once upon a time's and will remembering bring them back or just recreate a facsimile of the original breathtaking aura~

This piece is great and I love it. You've revealed that "once upon a time" can mean more than just princes and princesses. Wonderful writing.

I loved this. For me, it reminded me of the young beautiful relationship I had with my brother. As young adults we drifted apart and not until the death of our mother did we reconnect.. almost in a meloncholy relationship the memories of childhood together.

I have been debating about using these very lines for a poem, in a different light. However I love the way you used them. Once upon a time, I knew how to feel and I was aware of how the world worked. Now I just think I am some fool. Excellent write.

With Love,

Jaidyn
