Not Tonight

Not Tonight

A Poem by TheOther

You are a flower from hell.
I do not dare to hold you,
I remain in distance.

You and me,
the attraction,
your poisonous seduction.

My heart is not a place for you to blossom.
I won't fall for you,
my obscure existence.

With the scent of a sinner,
you perish in the dark,
beautifully entangled in the flames.

Bright and magnificent
you built up your resistance,
luring me into your arms.

Little by little your venom takes over me.
I turn to you in my demise,
you have not won yet.

It's my disguise.
I don't love you,
not tonight...

this is a very curious write that makes my thoughts divide~ from one point of view~ the struggle with the toxic love of another pops through~ and from the other it could also translate as the struggle within with the toxic self that pursues self destruction on a fine wire of imbalance~
I much enjoy the duality of possible interpretation~ and your composition is engaging and flawless~

I really liked the imagery of this stanza-
"It's my disguise.
I don't love you,
not tonight."

By the way, "disquise" should be spelled "disguise". Anything other than that is amazing. (:
