S.O.S., To a Friend

S.O.S., To a Friend

A Poem by Nicola

Little friend, I wear you on my sleeve, to me
My sole reason for being, little friend -
Tell me sweet nothings and silly lies, my one, my only
The apple of my eye: the Sun
In my own, little sky.

Come, little one, perch here on my shoulder, whisper in my ear
Many fables and tales, all the little things I so long to hear:
This discord within me, is not my insanity, but merely
The backlash of long, lonely years - and you
My saviour
My sweet little angel
Your halo a spark in this seemingly never-ending trail of darkness,
Flood my dark mind with light:
Cease this wretched night.
