Tears

As I stand here

And watch you walk away

I feel something familiar

Run down my face.

 

It was a tear.

It was only familiar

Because you have hurt me so much.

But I still run to you

When things get rough.

 

And I know

That this will be the last time

That I can still look at you

Like I did earlier today.

 

Another tear

From both eyes.

I close them in despair

As you silently slip away

From me.
