Misplacement Of A HeartA Poem by MrElbowmanQuick jotting downs of a man alone at home. How did I with such ease leave this to you? This is something I have to ask. For even now, with so much time passed I am still unsure. How could I fathom that you, of all people, could love me? Placing my heart in your hands Only to see it fall to the ground again and again You put me through so much and lead me on. What on this Earth could I have done so wrong? To deserve this emotional beating To deserve this gnashing of teeth To deserve your sick version of "love" We walked and talked, we laughed and cried. When you left my side that was when I died. Inside Outside All sides of me wrenched to attention. My guts exposed to the world. Tense nerves vibrating at your cold words. "This Won't Work" You said with such matter of fact attitude. No chance to even try. No time to even cry. Nothing. So that is why I thought and that is why I fought. I fought to get better and leave it alone. Working again to make myself fine on my own. Misplacement of a heart aside.
