on the moon

on the moon

A Poem by m.s.early

man on the moon

i dressed the poems with flowers
carefully with sentiment
and dotted each “i” as if lighting a candle
in the bedroom by the window
on the lampstand in the corner
and crossed each “t“ as if plucking a petal
from the roses i never gave you
blushing softly with each flicker
of each jasmine scented candle
that was never snuffed or lit
and i let the words down
like eddy wine so soft and velvet
that never graced the lips
that would never part to kiss
the one that lived so far away
it might as well have been the moon

I've stood overlooking tombstones wondering when tomorrow will come and just how far yesterday was... I walked castle walls in England cause I didn't know Love lived a county or two further away - then... and now, well - it's tomorrow and though the mirror lies the mind knows - it always knows. And the moonlight is no less lovely...

I have fallen....the moon and the man no longer my home...i can only travel by wind on the water...but even now...my eyes are becoming dry.

I feel you are as far away as the man in the moon. I miss reading you - please post soon!

yes, they can be so far away---and sometimes feel far away even when they are close...we have good intentions, but never act on them.

love this one.

I've always had a fascination with the man in the moon...
