this voice

this voice

A Poem by m.s.early

this voice makes the touch of silk or satin indifferent

it is glabrous like a gleaming spring leaf

serene as a love incantation

it wished me goodnight from beyond a pale tapestry

though no night could gain rest

from its equable fabric easily stirring my soul

You have disappeared....the voice remains

Interesting word choice - "glabrous". The meaning fits its line.

And I do like the "fabric" of that voice.

We learn by the senses but we understand by the heart the meaning of it all. We are in the cosmic fabric the epitome of purpose even with the indifference of the laws that govern. An excellent write...:).................

Amazing use of words my friend.
"this voice makes the touch of silk or satin indifferent
it is glabrous like a gleaming spring leaf
serene as a love incantation"
The words above. Perfect place and description to know. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

the good poets never give you the whole package; that would be prose; yet they give you something besides a string of words, something as tangible as silk which is always slipping away; they give you a haunting, something that is over there, close in a heart sort of way, yet far away as the next room, or maybe new york, or already gone...the good ones can only give what the heart surrenders
