...the undying allegiance and mention of the typewriter gave this momentum for me. I still have my smith corona in the dark recess of my closet, as if it were waiting for me to find it there. Haven't the heart to do away with it, even though its been there for years.

I am with Mia on this one...there is something undeniable when you write like this. Your other stuff is always well written too.....but there is so much more soul in these pieces....they show your true gifts!
This beautiful work holds a bit of situational irony because I just read the opposite by Samantha ~virginpoet ("Another Wretched Poem"). It's the yin to your yang in this poem. This is something that I should've written, but for whatever reasons, didn't. Good for you in not forgetting to write her this lovely piece.
sometimes what we need is a reminder, a gentle nudge perhaps, to usher our blind reasoning's along.
