your name

your name

A Poem by m.s.early

At first I noticed the cover,
engraved leather, chic, expensive, gold leaf.

The hands turning pages never appeared,
but one by one they turned
until mine was read
and every lie
I ever told.

I stood bare faced
most vulnerable as I could recall
listening to each ear shattering syllable
in the presence of His sinless grace.

He called your name and love before it
and I wept.

hmmm, an interesting piece. A tome of lost soullessness, and feeling the need for forgiveness. Not sure the origin, but a good piece of poetry.

Yeah, I am a card carrying Catholic -- guilt comes with the territory, but so does forgiveness.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

The narrator imagining or expecting judgement day and the opening of books. When her name was mentioned ( probably an illicit relationship) the narrator wept. I could be wrong. A wonderful and well-thought write...:)..........

Sounds like you're standing in judgement here xavier, not sure who 'he' is supposed to be, I guess it could be god or some other entity, or your own inner voice. Intriguing read, enjoyed.
