grace anew

grace anew

A Poem by m.s.early

in time, the motion linear,
where now forever is being,
the other thread pulled from my head
unravels in mist and film,
saying, "my friend, rest here.
there is no lag beyond this state.
we tongues have fruit and taste as much".
in memories fading quick
i reach into an envelope and read
a letter that i never sent
to a friend i loved richly,
but its words are old and frail now
i'm sure she must somehow know,
but i fold the terms between the lines
and move an inch or two.
the space is drying,
i'm levitating
and waiting for grace anew.

unspoken words
cross the years
and as the inks fade
and the minds age
the memories ...pass
into falling stars
new lovers wish upon...
