in now

in now

A Poem by m.s.early

to think is to exist in this now
beyond which no further moment lies,
no minus moments to conceive,
no longer being to recollect.
though now is but one note in the great harmony,
now is all there is to be;
its faith, its note to resonate;
its crescendos, its legacy.
now is a breath on a wind waiting.
now is a spawn of motion.
in now exist galore...

Spoken like a leader in the role of "being"...who you are NOW changes who you will become later:)

Indeed. That is poignant thought :)
The beginning reminds me of the Rene Descartes quote "I think, therefore I am." I like all of the musical language you chose to use, although I wish the piece had a little more "music" in it to go with the terminology (music in poetry includes things like diction, rhyme, etc). The momentum is good in this, and I like the way the lines flow, until the very last -- not sure if it fits?

:) My pleasure silver :)
existing in now seems pretty sanguine especially for those who live for future moments at which time there will be 'no minus moments to conceive, no longer being to recollect.' there's got to be a better way.

A better way? Oh no, I think. :)
though now is but one note in the great harmony,
now is all there is to be...

Such an awesome truth in this brief poem, Xavier. Now is the greatest gift, and deserves our full attention...

Indeed Rita. Thank you for your review :)
This is the moment we need to worry about...not the past and not the future. Now is the tangible. Very wise and philosophical words here. I liked it. Lydi**

thank you so much lydia, i agree wholeheartedly...
Being in this moment, without 'waiting' for the future or brooding over the past. One ought to be far-sighted but being futuristic is a degenerative demenor. Your lines are educative.

Sami kind of summed it up already, but is it just me or should the last exist have an S on the end?

That is both funnier and more true than you know
Past is past for we can't change it. Future is not promised. So live in the present but have plans for the now and future come what may...A wonderful write...
