poetry other than yours

poetry other than yours

A Poem by m.s.early
"

some nights there is nothing more than her on my mind

"
what use to write of anything other?
sapid verses prevented recitation
by my clutching throat in retaliation;
no sufferable mentions, but of thee my lover.
no use! no use! will alleviation service me?
this night I fear your touch does evade,
thou absent kiss, a distant renegade;
solicitude has enervated me this eve.
lovesick retching in anxiety assailing,
fear another motif will not meet my pen
until our lips have duly banded (if even then),
thou lips and voice unwontedly prevailing;
perhaps no other verse shall I ever write again,
poetry other than yours wrought but not availing.

thank you noodle... I do appreciate your reviews and your writes :)
Love, that most temperamental of Muses... when we are sin it, the ink flows; when it is lost, so is inspiration... This is a strong write with a "classic" feel, Xavier.

Romantic and beautiful, but to be sure you have much more to write my friend.

You are welcome...:).................
these words jump off the page and make me want to retch in anxiety, too. such is the power and impact of this lovesick poem. it really causes the reader to gasp in incredulity at how one can capture and articulate an episode of the physical manifestations of anxiety and longing. you allow us access to the recesses of an unquiet mind. i have known no greater passion in poetry than in the verses of your own.

Such potent emotion....the wanting, lamenting, even...what the hell can we voice when we do indeed yearn so badly? x

I could feel those lovesick emotions. As bad a suffering as withdrawal symptoms. Wonderful writing all yhe way.

(; thank you Divya, it's no doubt that some become addicted to love :)
' .. this night I fear your touch does evade, ~ thou absent kiss, a distant renegade;.. ' the craft of more than traditional poetising is not yet over.. hooray! You write with style and gently sad-romantic. Your poem would be so different if written in modern language - could be more harsh, flimsy and, less more.
