As The Fireflies DanceA Poem by Richie StevensI have never seen fireflies before, but I wrote this poem as if I had seen these beautiful insects in the night. I imagine they are as beautiful as I have written. Poem written in 2020 by me.
As the fireflies dance
I'm sat in the wood My tent warming up Watching them, all is good They dance in harmony Glowing their lights Perfectly pretty In all their delights I don't feel alone As I watch them float But on watching them There's space in my love boat We could sail together Just like those fireflies Seeing the world together Through each others eyes I'm content to share for now As I'm healing old wounds But my boat will not sail With you my heart swoons So as the fireflies dance My boat's on the river And I sit in my tent Warming up from the shiver Watching them dance Twinkling away with each other Waiting for you You precious little lover © 2024 Richie Stevens |
