I Remember You

I Remember You

A Poem by TheMidwesternJew
"

A poem for the dead lover in Paris.

"

O say, I see you there

when the joys of the blues finally ends

as the needle stops and the light meets the air

you’ll remember the times unshared

Arguing to each other

thousand-old philosophies

Old red, white and blue

the external flame meets

and the old bitter rival

becomes the true patriot

As the young lambs return in the arms of a change Shepard

Close to the unknown

I sit against the trees

No imperfections

the thought comes

as I think of you

O say, I remember you

Your lovers withstanding

the artists

the poets

the writers

Seen as an idol

Across the balcony

and through the Paris streets

O say, I remember you

Against the foggy autumn wind
Lay alone I sit against the marble
of Pere-Lachaise Cemetery
I shout against the thoughts
as I pour the last drop
