Ordinary High School of Hell

Ordinary High School of Hell

A Poem by Victoria Harlequin
"

Drugs, alcohol, sex, you name it, somebody's doing it. Parents should be proud of their sweet little demons.

"

Paper balls fly from the hands of immature boys

Making obscene gestures with their bodies or letting out an unnecessary noise

Cell phones under the desks or in a purse

Girls text non-stop, laughing annoyingly as if rehearsed

Imaginary signs are embroidered on clothes

Labeling jocks, nerds, gays, and w****s - I ask myself, "What do they know?"

Much pity to those who follow the crowd

They don't know a lie from the truth, or up from down

A couple is making out against the lockers,

Putting on a show for all of the horny cockers

Words slip from one mouth to another, sharing news on the latest fling

"Yeah, Sarah said he showed her his .. THING!"

Down the hallways you'll find the cliques

Clinging to each other like small and fragile ticks

The loner gets attention from all of his classmates

He is a smart kid who acts strange and doesn't go on dates

Aggravation is what some students feel in class

Wondering how the ones who slack always manage to pass

Smoke drifts from the girls' bathroom

When a teacher goes by, they know their doom

I guess it's true when people say, "High school years are the best years of our lives"

Drugs, alcohol, sex - you name it, somebody's doing it.  Parents should be proud of their sweet little demons.  They accomplish so much, and follow every rule.  Give them a new car, or maybe that new touch screen phone from Sprint!  They'll definitely keep up the hard work ...

[This does not go for everyone]

I love it. I like the sarcastic commentary you've done!

This is probably a VERY exaggerated version of my school, because we're not all that bad, but I know what you mean...

Now to go and read some more of your work...

Oh i love this! I love the sarcasm and attitude behind your words. I really like everything, nice to bring out the negative aspect of school. And all of this is 100% true.. all us teens know it.

That was awesome!! It summed up high school PERFECTLY!! Down to the detail. And everything I see everyday, you've got it down. Everything I hear too. Just everything!! Great job summing up the hormonal jungle that is high school!!
