Never Lasting Words

Something I wrote on the spot. Boredom took over as I was listening to music :D YES, I do realize that this may not be true, but I thought I'd try this out.

 

Never Lasting Words

 

The past is gone

Yet it still disturbs me

Time stands still

But it flies by in a blink

Friends stay by your side

Then they leave unexpectedly

Love is powerful when found

But agonizing when it’s lost

Dreams are beautiful and extensive

However, they always die away

Songs bring delight when they start

Soon after they fade out

A kiss so passionate

Will always end

The warmest embrace

Never lasts forever

Sweet, meaningful words

Come to a close sooner or later

This beautiful planet we live in

Won’t be around perpetually

All of this, true as can be

Even though it hurts, you surely must see

Don’t fret or pay no mind

Because everything will start over

This poem, with little words

Is going to conclude

But believe me when I say

There will be more soon

Oh! A paradoxical poem! I love it.
Each statement is contradictory to the previous one, but they all hold a truth that as we continue our journey through life, we live and experience these paradoxes first hand.
