Each Of Them

Each Of Them

A Poem by The Message
"

Written for the "Seven Words" contest.

"

She saw in time
Words spread across the sky
And part her eye
Lilting softly outwards,
Lost to a cry
Outside the lie
We told to the grime.

Brace yourself,
Real one,
As the orange
Cracks glow in fading vigor,
Evanescing,
Lingering,
Evanescing...
Torn.

Confusion,
Outwardly professed
Fear at this change,
Fear at the waves
Everyone can see
Except she.

Confusion,
Outwardly ingest the
Broken sky
With words spreading,
Evanescing,
Burdening the wounds with
Salt.

Silently,
Perhaps guiltily,
Each of them
Let out a howl
To mark the season.

Time will tell
Indeed, that
Not only was
She alone,
Each of them
Let out a howl.

Grains of
Rusted orange
Engulf my floor tonight,
Torn,
Evanescing,
Lingering.

Congratulations for winning the seven-word poem!

It really is beautiful, and in my interpretation captures the ideas of solitude and sadness quite well. I can quite honestly say that this poem depicts a lost soul, and I hope the soul was found. ( :) )
