The Great View

The Great View

A Poem by Death Stalker

The great view of my city,
towering over the horizon
like a giant spiderweb of iron.

I stand alone on top of this mountain,
soaking in my last view of all.
I looked down, a steep cliff,
that is vertical to the ground.
The ground is at least fifty feet down.

I smiled, thanks to this backstabber,
there's no hope and purpose to life anymore.
My life from this point on,
with the counseling and s**t
is going to be hell.

I waited, until the sunset ran away in fear
to hide in the horizon, so it don't have to see me die.

Good bye cruel world,
for all the things you give me,
I shall return the favor.
I read the letter again,
I folded it and slipped it into my pocket.

I leaned off the cliff,
I closed my eyes, accepting my fate.
I smiled before hitting the ground,
as my limped body lays there
crippled and still smiling.
Smiling like a fool
for trusting.
