Alone

Alone

A Poem by Death Stalker

Clouds cover the night's shame.
lightnings act like a nightlight
thunders to scare the ghost away
from this misty wet street.

Hiding in the shelter of the bus stop
a man lie down on the bench
watching the clouds storm
the lightning blasting the night.

A pedestrian, running under the rain
ran past the man, stopped to notice him sleeping.
Desperate for money, the pedestrian walks to the man.
The man takes no notice, the pedestrian growls as he realized
the wallet is on the back pocket that the man is lying on.

The pedestrian, naturally assuming he's a heavy sleeper under the weather
turned the man over, the man collapsed on the concrete with no movement
the pedestrian's desire to run is high,
but the man does not move,
the pedestrian noticed a bulge in his arm,
thinking it is a wallet, he pulls up the man's long sleeves

the arm is bloodied, the wound reads
FOREVER
he checks the other arm in curiosity
ALONE
he pulls down the man's turtle neck
and find a sliced throat
with blood still freshly spewing out.

the thunder rumbles as the pedestrian
dialed on his phone.
the lightning flashes, electrifying the rain
that gives no mercy on the ground.
