Dragon Fire In The Sky

Dragon Fire In The Sky

A Poem by Bobby Madden
"

Fantasy.

"
Airborne firebreather
My teeth are swords
My claws are spears
I am the greatest calamity of your time
Here I linger year after year amidst the sea of forsaken treasure
Lust I have for gold and diamonds and rubies and emeralds and sapphires
Anything I perceive of value I claim as my very own possession
I am the reason for the pines roaring on the height and the winds moaning in the night
Terror and despair are what you’ll suffer when you see trees like torches blazing with light
Dragon fire in the sky is the terrifying omen I bring when I spread my wings and fly
Dragon fire in the sky is the terrifying omen I bring that means you will die
I am mountain royalty
The lonely mountain belongs to me
Anybody who attempts to take it from me
Shall be blackened like the sky on a moonless night
Nothing can save you from my wrath
Not swords, not black arrows, not wizardry
I am free to roam this mighty realm with nothing threatening my reign
If you should ever muster the will to oppose me then not only will you be reduced to mere ash but your entire domain will be reduced to nothing more than a barren wasteland more for my own amusement
I will show you revenge
I will show you tyranny
I am fire
I am death
