Punishment

Punishment

A Poem by t.m.

I am stuck going in circles,
A hell that I inadvertently created
For myself.
Pain like I have never known
Is the gift I gave
As a reminder
That I will always fail.
It is my own mind and thoughts
That prosecute me daily,
So that when I sleep
I am hanging.
I am covered in marks that
Will never fix what I've done,
But exist so that I will never
Be allowed to forget.
