fake your death

fake your death

A Poem by t.m.
"

Tragedies always end in death.

"

Maybe my heart's still beating,

maybe it will be when I'm leaving,

but

to be honest

it feels more like it's breaking.

Shakespeare said that "all the world's a stage,"

and this is my play.

I feel like somewhere along the line

I went off script.

My stage is set for a tragedy,

but maybe I can avoid the ending.

Closed eyes and deep breaths

show that I'm alive.

These are the moments that

create my foundation,

hold me up and tear me down.

They may not define me but

they do defy me.

There is a saying in Dutch which loosely translated says, "in the stageplay of life, no one is given a program". It is quite impossible to go "off script" because no amount of planning will ever ensure a specific path in life. Nothing is written in stone and a tragedy may soon turn into a comedy...one never knows. Empowering ending to this write. I liked it. lydi**
