Anchor

A Poem by t.m.

Take me away, I pleaded.

You saw into my dreams, into me.

Your smile lifted me from reality.

Where do we stand with the world?

This was the newest thing, the home and family.

I could see myself getting used to the feeling.

You picked me up and I stood on my feet again.

As I stumbled, you held my hand and gave me the will to go on.

In the form of a smile, a laugh, I loved it all.

I love it all.
You felt like home when I closed my eyes.

Took my breath away, I was drowning.

Opened my lungs and let the water consume all that we were,

All that we are.
You wouldn't let me f
all, wouldn't let me down.

A god amongst the rest, you could never fail.

~ wow... this is so beautiful... i'm moved to tears... whoever this is for is a very precious person... ~ to have such a person in our lives is a true blessing...
~ there are many unanswered questions peeping from behind your words too... but i do believe that time reveals answers that we might not have now... ~ more importantly, this is a truly moving piece of poetry... ~ there is such a person in my life... and i have failed in writing anything even a millionth as beautiful as this to thank him... but i'll try harder now... because of this post... thank you for writing this piece...
