A Poem by Bradley
"

Arm yourself.

"

Our failures do not get the last word.

Our faults do not paint our portrait.

For the sword is tempered by fire.

Our sorrow cannot outlast our spirit.

Our pain does not conquer us.

For the shield is ever raised.

We do not submit.

We do not shatter.

We do not break.

For the armor is upon us and in us.

The rain does not dampen.

The mountains do not cast shadows.

The night does not conceal.

For the wind carries our song.

We are guided by the sun.

We are guided by the stars.

For the purpose is absolute.

We see true.

We see false.

For the fog is lifted.

The ground trembles.

The vultures circle.

For the enemy will fall.

It made me think of (for the very first time as poetry) the 19th Psalm (kjv)... which is after all a poem written by David.
