Heartbeat

Heartbeat

A Poem by TheMalady
"

There is always a first time for everything.

"

"Who are you?"

Did you not whisper those?

Under playful shadows of the Willow,

The sky closing down to dusk

While the wind howls in unison.

"Let's walk together..."

A lullaby

Drifting and swallowed

By the beating music of heart

And splashing crimson of Love.

"Until tomorrow then."

Promises, pinky swear

Eyes flickering

As you stare straight into mine

A fleeting memory - forever it will mark.

Hello! >_<

You know that sensation when you had your first time?
Well, especially when you meet someone that makes your heart go 'doki-doki?'

Any feed backs? I will be glad if you could share them. :)

i was pinky sworn with a couple loves...but they must have had their toes crossed...false promises...but that first time is always significant...and we believe...as we grow older and become jaded---we have trouble believing...
but i like the hopeful mood of this ...the time of innocence and "maybe this is it?" feeling.

and i like those separate lines...a poem within the poem.

Oh the ephemarility of time, the eternity of memories and eventuality of promises.
Beautifully rendered.
Very poetic. Very lyrical. Very poignant.

Great read.

Best,
M.

I love the effect this had on me. It transported me back to my youth and triggered fond memories of when my world was young and more magical. Thanks for taking me back there. I really like your writing style.

A pleasure.
I love this. I like how innocent it is and it inspires me to add simple love to my own story, though I would have to be careful not to force it! Nicely written Malady, pure and simple and elegant.

This is lovely. The words are so delightful. The description of nature in the first stanza or the comparison of music in the second one. The last stanza becomes more personal, physical but still it creates nice feelings.

As always, great imagery! 'Wind howling in unison' - I like it!
Also the pinky swear, an endearing element which made me smile.

The only thing I would change is 'As you stare straight INTO mine'.

There is a softness to this poem which is tempered with a bit of edge [eg. howling wind, splash of crimson, making a mark] in the fourth line of each stanza.

I like how you have paced the verses - making it a good read.
