I don't want to go

“Why can´t I stay here forever?” I said with tears streaming down my face. 

“I´ll be fine here. You need to wake up. I can see you tomorrow!” she was trying to sound happy and 

 

cheerful for me. I didn´t want that. I wanted to stay in her arms not wake up to reality. 

“But I won´t be fine-” I said in a small voice. 

“That´s not my home”. She sighs, “You do know that I don´t exist, right?” 

“Thats not true!” I say crying even harder.  

“There are so many realities out there. I will find you eventually!”  

I looked up to her, my vision still blurry from my tears. “You are my home. Because if you are not- 

 I don´t know where to go.” She was crying now too. “No, you are right. You will find me. But you need  

to wake up, just for now. Okay? Promise me you´ll try.” 

“Will you wait for me?” I asked. 

“I will wait, promise.” 

“Promise.” I repeated as I felt that I was waking up. 

“I still don´t want to go-” but I was already back in my bed, tears still streaming down my face. 

“I´ll try.” I said to myself. 

I´ll try...

Wow, you wrote another beautiful piece that feels so personal that I love. I always thought the idea of a dream world was just something silly I made up in my head that others would think is dumb, but obviously, you came up with your own, and not only that, you wrote it on here! You can feel the sadness, the bitter sting, the tears rolling down your cheeks... And I have to say, you wrote one of my favorite lines of all time, I think.

Thank you for sharing. I don't read to achieve happiness or inspiration, but to see how others handle the business of writing. You handled it well. I can't recall ever writing a "dream" dialogue, but it seems to be about the same as waking conversation. The difference is in the subject matter. Please note, I was perfectly able to believe this passage and accept it as something that could happen. So disbelief was suspended - that is important.
