Words That You WhisperA Poem by LydiaThe words that you whisper Chill me to the bone They tell of a story with a killer Of dreams, not lives Oh, the words that you whisper Cut through me like knives They tell the story of a person Who only cared about himself Not the dreams he crushed of anyone else "Let it go," you demand To no one but you He thought he had to be in command Of not just his own life, but yours too He wasn't a father Not even close He said you were a bother So why did he keep you as his rose Whose petals he would pluck And throw to the floor Stomp them until they were stuck And could be nothing more Maybe deep down he really did care Maybe he was just bitter Either way, there are so many scary things that you share In the words that you whisper, Keep whispering. © 2012 LydiaReviews
