How can I let you go??

How can I let you go??

A Poem by TheLostMind
"

Can you let go of someone you really care about?. Can you turn a blind eye to their silence, their suffering and walk away when the only thing that matters to you is their smile?.

"
What is life but fleeting moments of happiness strung together on necklace of despair - Marian Keyes.
Life is but a riddle.
Fleeting moments of joy.. Everlasting scars...
And you sit there.. crying..
Unmasking... its wicked disguises...

Stupid heart.. Still believing..
Chasing dreams.. Long lost..
Collecting.. Shattered pieces..
Rebuilding... Broken dreams..
Flitting about..a world of insanity...
A victim.. of Time's conspiracy...

Stranded..Lonely..
Lost in the middle of nowhere..
Searching.. For a way back home...
Crying... All alone...

I tried... closing my eyes..
But it didn't stop the tears...
How can I turn my heart to stone?
Immune.. To your suffering..
How can I walk away?..
Tell me.. How can I walk away?

Just once.. Take my hand...
Let me walk you home...
As you turn the key.. I know, you will smile..
Leaving all despair.. behind..
Once You've smiled..
I swear.. I will walk away..
Never to be seen.. again..
I will walk away..
Back into the nothingness whence I came..

Please.. Just once.. Take my hand..
Let me help you.. When I can...

From the heart you push and pull us all over the place in this passionate and sad poetry, to want just a small moment and feel complete even without anymore is the making of a poet, we live and breathe pain and loss and cry out for happiness and love, you know how to make this work in a poem, bravo :)

We seem to live in hope of that,' One last time' but is it ever enough? Sadness overcomes us and the ache continues..... Best to cut losses and move on I say.

I have seldom come across a more poetically beautiful description of life. Unmasking its wicked disguises. Brilliant!

I did and so much. You are welcome.
Yes, I guess we can never let go of our loved ones.. The trouble is when we see that when we don't see the same attitude of that person towards us, that does kinda hurts.. Which makes one wonder why can't we also turn blind, to act as if we also don't care..
Sad and realistic questions here. Loved reading it ☺

This is beautifully written. It starts with a battle of the heart and mind, ever confusing an already confused state, by letting one rule the other, then flipping to polar opposites and only adding to the confusion that led to the lost smile in the first place. Like an inner demon, we toss and turn in our mind and heart, trying to make ourselves, or in this case others, see sense, where none can be found. When one heart is willing to leave that person be, just for one smile, then I do hope that person knows how much kindness and selflessness that one act takes. Beautifully captured.

Yup! Anytime.
Wow...

Stunning. I love the suffering, the torment. Wanting to walk away and to forget and save yourself the pain yet been unable to. Then the eventual begging; bargaining. Encapsulates the stages of grief in one moment. Great job.

Thank You. I am glad you liked it :).
I guess love is empowering
Yet heart breaking
To walk away or stick around for one last cheer
Or maybe even longer. The heart is such a gentle thing
And loving someone is all about sacrifice :)

Sometimes letting go my be a desperate act of survival.......there is a time and place for everything, and knowing when the end arrives helps.....
Great poetry! :)
