I will be here for you forever

I have a friend.. far far away.. She is suffering.. fighting for what she believes in.. From here, all I can give is hope.. words of support...

** Prologue **

I once knew a girl... beautiful and clever

With deep brown eyes... that could pierce me like  a spear

Now she is suffering....  fighting for a lost cause

Hanging on to memories.... of love that was. .

Her absence.. it makes me quiver. .

More than her tears... it's her silence that I fear.

You will not  be alone,  never. ..

I will be here for you forever. .

If there ever comes a day.

Filled with sadness, or with fear. .

Remember,  I will be here for you forever. 

If life pulls you down. . 

Don't shed a tear. .

Just remember,  your friend will be here for you.. forever. .

Time will fly by...

And you will forget me my dear. .

Yet,  I will be here for you.. forever. .

When Time comes calling. .

And my end is near. .

I will have a smile on my face. .

I was here for you.. forever.

I admire how you care for your friend. And your promise to be there for her forever- that was so awesome. She is so lucky to have you, yet it seems it's different when you are not with her. It's different when you can actually lean on one's shoulder, hold his hand, cry in his presence, and listen to his words.

This speaks to me…. The suffering of someone you care for, unable to do anything but to stand by her, be ready, offer support and convey however you may, that you are here in every way, to pick them up, comfort, offer unconditional support… “more than her tears… it’s her silence that I fear.” This line within the repetitive / reinforcing nature made the poem complete for me… Thank you Lost Mind… for sharing
