Life Is Never Fair

Life Is Never Fair

A Poem by TheLostMind
"

Walking to the funeral of a person you loved...

"
I walk along that crowded lane.
Wondering how long I'll feel the pain.
My broken heart keeps banging against my chest.
Is it time for it to rest??.
Even though I try to leave them behind...
Those memories of her still haunt my mind...
Pale and motionless, she stings my eyes....
She drives me insane, she makes me realize..
Life is never fair, my friend...
Coz all good things are destined to end.....
I thought that she was the one for me...
God wasn't fair in setting her free...
The void left by her can never be filled...
The funeral was hers', but it was my soul that was killed...
Now, against my weak heart I fight...
Wondering what's wrong and what's right...
Your consoling words won't suffice..
They inebriate my brain, they make me realize..
Life is never fair my friend...
Coz all good things are destined to end...
I think of her night and day...
Wondering why God took her away ..
I try to keep my spirit alive...
Its been ripped, left to die...
I feel her pain, I hear her cries..
Shattered, broken, slowly I realize..
Life is always fair, my friend...
Like all broken things, even this will mend..

This was a sad but beautiful read!! It is in the moments of pain, that we realize that we are human and we yearn for things to get better. We improve who we are - I am glad you changed the last verse. It gives the reader hope!! :)

My pleasure :)
This is poem feels so real and relate-able for anyone who has experienced a personal loss, it is a dignified admission of one's weakness despite the facade one puts up or sympathy and help one receives in such a time.
Loved it ! Great work :)

Thank you Ana :)
You need to read the book by Jack London "When Gods laugh". Your writing had a feel of the book thoughts and tale. In this book. Jack London said in his stories. No matter what we do. We will lose. I like your poem. It is logical and true. A lucky person enjoy the day. Laugh at the gods and enjoy every minute they can. A small victory. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. Made me think this early morning.

You are welcome. I enjoyed your poetry.
Genuine and straight from the heart. Never seen such an exquisite love poem. I think it's the amazing rhyming scheme that did it. I also like those lingering dots at the end; very nice effect to the piece. You seem like quite the charmer.

Enjoyed every word of this.

Thank you for sharing.

A very good night to you too:)
I love the new ending, because it is true eventually even the greatest hurts can mend if you give them a chance. I love this, you really know how to make someone feel what you feel through your words.

I can feel the pain in the words of this poem. Very well written. But unfortunately these words are very true. We need to try to make the best of what comes our way. There is a reason for it.
