For Whom Should I Write ?

For Whom Should I Write ?

A Poem by TheLostMind
"

I once had someone who used to read all my poems / stories. Now, I wonder, for whom should I write?.

"
In this dark room, I try to sleep…
This foolish heart of mine, why does it weep?
Those memories of her, why don’t they fade?
What were the mistakes, I should never have made?

Her pretty face , makes my heart skip a beat..
Too stubborn to accept, it’s defeat..
Why does it fret, why does it cry?
That wicked fate of mine, why cant it defy?

Feeling forlorn,
I turn on the light.
Wondering, now that she is gone,
For whom should I write?

To put myself to rest, a pen is all I need.
On this very page, with words I shall bleed..

Forcing a smile on my face,
I try to put the past behind,
Picking a pen from a case,
I start writing out my mind.

I write of love, I write of hate.
I write of destiny and fate.
I write of pleasure, I write of pain.
I write all this, in disdain..

Now that it’s almost dawn
I slowly turn off the light.
Wondering, now that she is gone.
Should I ever really write?

As the Sun begins to rise
I collapse on my bed…
Finally, I close my eyes..
To death, I have bled…

you should always write for yourself.. not about writing to impress, it is about writing to express... yes, cliche but fitting... this has a lovely flow and pleasant rhymes.. I enjoyed this, but it did tug on my heartstrings in a bittersweet song of loss, longing, and hope... sometimes, opening those scars and allowing ourselves to bleed onto the page is the best therapy for what ails us... to be able to move others with the emotions that we pour onto the page takes great skill and you have done that here.. well done, my friend..

Like everyone has already mentioned write for yourself, because when you are true to what you write the end result is beautiful.

And the way you express love to be your inspiration to write is beautiful.
Lost- Don't know what to write since you've been gone.

Beautiful.

Thank you.

Thanks Angad :). I am glad you liked this.. :P
For whom, now, should I write?

That is a question I've asked myself in the past. Myself, mostly, but really, I write for whoever I care to, whoever I think might find some slight enjoyment of my work.

I enjoyed this piece. It is powerful, somber, and well written.

Well, write for yourself, is what I will tell you. I have been through such situations myself, and realised the best pieces I wrote, were for myself and the emotions I felt.
It is believe: we just cannot have only one soulmate; that'd be a waste of love and mistakes.
