COLORED SHEEP

COLORED SHEEP

A Chapter by NeiL ArandA

Discombobulated I was about these slogans
perpetrated against another group, in the
name of whatever life they inferring to.

Black, Blue, Beige, Brown and Burgundy
life matters especially to Him that formed it,
sacred to the One that created it.

On the contrary, there's a river that runs through
a valley whose water is a mile wide and a foot deep
Where prodigals return and no southern hospitality.
Where gray and white matter blends
but lack amenities
Where someone's word is idolized and framed.

There's more wine-presser than grapes
Where many would rather do than be
Wheat and tares produces the same dough.
The good Samaritan gets sued , never to return
again to pay what he owe.

Where anglers mend nets more so often than
catch fish. Where fishing boats gets frequently
tended yet deemed unseaworthy.

And some distant pasture full of grazing
pedigree, in somewhat close proximity
Where verdant meadows is lush with tender
buds of sweet scented cliques and coteries.

Where herdsman was replaced by
presumptuous Psychologist
who has taken over the field. To diagnose
someone's heart, to explain life's issues
Not to 'come as you are' but to try outpatient

I marveled at the hierarchy of such scenery
and the order by which ones blemish
is carefully segregated
But that's not what truly taken me aback

It was when the goats
became more important than the sheep...
